Hundred percent dude! One of the best bands of the last 10 or so years by a mile! Can't wait until the next time that I can see them

Elder continues to blow my mind, since discovering them in 2019 ( I was hoping they might come within 300 miles of Seattle on their last tour, but no such luck yet...)

Great interview. I love Nick’s vibe. He is so down to earth, yet at the same time this crazy musical genius. Elder is truly a musical gem. I’ve had Innate Passage on repeat all day and really start to feel it.

I think that Elder's records are just killer aren't they and they really do take on a life of their own the longer that you hear them. Nick is a totally wonderful dude and incredibly humble too. Thanks for checking out the interview as well, I;m curious, what is your favourite release of theirs btw?

This is a great interview with thoughtful questions and responses. IP is a staggeringly good record from beginning to end. I loved Omens (including vocals...) and think IP represents an amazing evolution of sound and song structure. I was happy to hear the question and response on Georg's solidification into the band as he sounds way more comfortable and integrated on this record. I wonder if the drummer change was a necessary component for the progression of their sound aside from whatever personal or transactional reasons led to the departure and arrival.

Fantastic interview - this dude is so grounded in reality while simultaneously producing some of the most reality-shattering music. Mad respect all around.

Dude I couldn't agree more. Nick is a good friend of mine and a truly wonderful human, not to mention the other 'Elders' shall we say. Totally brilliant people and Innate Passage still gets regular airplay from me all the time. Thanks for checking out the interview man!

I just heard this today and it's a sonic whirlwind . I didn't connect with Omens but this one got me immediately. And just as the year is ending. Reminds me of when Baroness released Purple pretty much halfway thru December and blew everyone away. Great interview. 🤘

Hey there Rocio, it's really a fantastic record isn't it. Weirdly, I think that I connected quicker with Omens than this one but it's grown on me a hell of a lot since I've been listening to it. I've had it on repeat since September, man what a record. I definitely agree with the Baroness comparison where it just comes out and smashes it out of the park out of nowhere you know? What a fantastic band. Are you a fan of Lore and Reflections as well?

what a chiller. it's relieving, last time i felt this way about an album was terminal redux and that got rough. hope this lineup makes a few more albums! i would play bass for this band in a heartbeat.

Oh god, yeah that was pretty bad. Still a brilliant album but sadly one that I just can't listen to anymore. Definitely agree with you though, I am sure that the band will be going strong and thanks so much for checking the video out! Means the world :)

Oh man they really are the best right? When did you see them last? I was lucky last year and got to see them twice during 2022. Thanks for the kind words on the interview as well, Nick and I friends and I always think that makes for an interesting point of conversation when it comes to interviews, so I'm really glad you liked it!

Hell yeah! I couldn't agree more. I think that had it been out a little longer it might have cracked the top 5 but I just think that it would have been doing those records a disservice but still wanted to make sure that it was very high in the top 10. What a band and thank you so much for checking the video out, hope you enjoyed it! Nick is a total diamond.

Hey man! Thanks for the kind words there, that is hugely appreciated and I'm so glad that you enjoyed the interview. Nick is a lovely, lovely person and a real great friend too. I also think that he's far too humble for the level of talent that is going on in the world of Elder haha - thanks though for checking out the video! It was a great big of fun :)

I really appreciate hearing Nick talk about his sort of vocal evolution. When Omens first came out I felt pretty negative on the 'new' vocals and it caused me to walk away from the album for a couple months. Eventually I came back and gave it another chance. Still didn't like the vocals, but at least liked the instrumentals and general writing. Came back to it again after a while and didn't really think about the vocals at all because I thought my mind had already settled on an opinion. Eventually it got to the point I was listening to the album multiple times every week and loving it and now I feel like I can't understand where my initial dislike of the vocals ever came from. Nick is definitely right about all of our bodies and voices changing over time, but putting that reality against fan expectations of bands and singers always keeping a sort of signature sound can be a very tough spot to be in. I'm glad that in the end he took the approach he did of just going with the natural changes and not trying to force a particular style.

Oh wow! I love when that kind of thing happens. It almost makes you fall in love with the band all over again but just in a different setting right? I can only imagine that kind of pressure that you would feel doing that as a singer but also wanting to honour your own artistic integrity at the same time. That's one of the reasons I've never bad mouthed Opeth's decision to mellow things down a little, you've just got to embrace the difference and go from there. Thanks for checking out the interview though! Means the world :)
