Vikings were so much into "multiculturalism" (apparently) that they let foreign missionaries into their lands, which resulted in their conversion to a very intolerant belief system from out of the middle eastern desert and the destruction of the ways of their ancestors. What an enrichment… Makes one think about Europe's situation today... I agree that Norse myths and paganism can serve as inspiration for today's youth, but if the result of this thought process boils down to mindlessly repeating the dominant ideological canons as Ivar does ("multiculturalism = good", "Nazis = bad"), then it's not worth the trouble. The pagan world view is totally incompatible with Christian universalism, from which today's liberal - or "progressive-utopian" - values are derived (productivism, human rights, "no-borderism", immigrationism, etc). Rejecting those values does not automatically make one a Nazi. Ivar is a great musician, but he is no philosopher. Anyway, Enslaved rules no matter what.

Countries in eastern Europe are the most catholic/christian and they are the last ones that greatly reject open borders and multiculturalism. Riddle me that.

@@kevinbartolen5881 True. This is mostly due to the fact these countries have only recently regained their independence after decades of Soviet rule. Their patriotism is vibrant for the memories of the oppression are still vivid. Quite ironically, being under Soviet control protected these countries from the progressive ideology that emerged from the 1968 cultural revolution in the West, which explains why the latter is not as dominant in eastern Europe. The eastern countries also have a different history and were less impacted by the Enlightenment philosophy and the rule of the liberal bourgeoisie. I’m not saying that people of Christian faith are never patriotic. That would be absurd. In the big scheme of things however, one must understand that the Christian worldview is in its core a universalist ideology, as the end goal is to unite the whole world behind the teachings of Christ. In a belief system in which there can only be one God and one Truth, there fundamentally is no place for alterity. This also applies to the other monotheisms (Judaism and the Islam), although with some nuances. In the monotheistic view, a world that is separated in different nations and cultures (each with its own traditions, values, ways of life, etc.) can only be a temporary and suboptimal state of affairs, which sooner or later is bound to disappear. Various thinkers have shown how Christian religious belief secularized itself with the universalist philosophy of the Enlightenment era, which in turn led to the liberal and progressist ideas we know today. At the core of each of these philosophies lies the idea that History is a linear progression that will end in a united world (be it the Kingdom of Heaven, the global Market, world Communism or the progressive/woke Utopia). In a way, Western societies have never been as Christian as there are now. Although no longer religious, they have only now fully embraced Christian eschatology, even if this means their own disappearance.

Yeah...the Vikings were so into multiculturalism that all the genetic studies done on them all conclude that they were all NW Europeans primarily descended from Indo-Europeans (Yamnaya) and Western Hunter-Gatherers...and that when they came into contact with Inuits in Greenland and Native Americans in Newfoundland they purposefully stayed away from them and refused to mix with them. Still...Enslaved is one of my favourite bands and their music has the native European (e.g. White) spirit whether they like it or not. thuletide.wordpress.com/2020/09/25/viking-diversity/
