It has been reported that Mateer the WSU QB is currently being paid 400K and he's not going anywhere unless he gets 7 figures. He has lots of eligibility left too so he's a great option.

7 figures is no problem if Michigan wants him. Regardless of who the 2025 recruit is I expect them to get a portal QB. Mateer or Moss seem like good options.

Grahm is DT1 in the draft. One of the best DT prospects of the last 20 years. Hes gonna get a massive rookie contract. Grant is probably a first rounder as well. It would be a bad financial move to come back even if we paid them 5 million for one season which isn’t even possible

Mateer, with two years of eligibility is the perfect solution to Michigan’s QB problem. He’s leave at the end of 2026 & Hart or Davis would be ready to step up. Make Jadyn Davis compete. If Michigan is smart, they’re at least pushing Underwood for a firm date prior to ESD so they can proceed with contingencies if he sticks with LSU. Trying to trust that they’re being as proactive as possible. Holding this class together is imperative, answers at QB will go a long way in sealing the deal!

Those causing the rumors aren't the fans but those in the media. Telling the fans to chill when they only follow the media, which is kind of odd. Frankly, it would be great for him to go to Michigan, but it is the media that's causing all the hype.

Here is the issue with a recruitment like his: He is a the best kid in the state with school like Michigan and is committed to another school. He is hearing about this daily, and im sure it is getting to him. And that is understandable

@blankname6629 i believe you are correct. I think the biggest issue with recruiting as a whole is both sides never truly put their cards on the table and I understand that. But lets say you are correct, he could have told Michigan don't waste your time. There is nothing you can do to change my mind.

The expectations for this kid are through the roof. I don't see this working for Michigan in the long haul if he comes to Michigan. I feel his heart is at LSU and I'm sure the expectations are high there but not on the level that Michigan fans, that are starved for a good QB are. But if he does choose Michigan I sure hope the coaching staff can embrace what he does well and surround him with good talent to shine. If he stumbles out of the gate I hate to say it but I believe it is going to be a shit show of people complaining about what we paid to get him to come to Michigan. I hope he chooses Michigan and balls out and brings 2-3 championships home to Michigan. That is a lot of pressure though.

I’m curious if you think that deriding Michigan’s OC publicly like you did here is helpful. While I don’t blame you for being underwhelmed by the offense this season, nor do I think you shouldn’t have the right to express your opinions, it’s always odd to me how “fans” take to social media and don’t take into account the effect that their words have on potential decisions. They make up childish names and insult the coach and the intelligence of the recruit all to sooth your bruised ego - so mature. I’m not claiming that the effect is significant, (but kids do read and listen to these things), more so just wondering at the phenomenon as I see it all over the place. We see a recruit being pursued and many “fans” come online and say, “der hur … why would a QB want to play here?” Or “why would a top WR want to play for THIS offense when all they do is block.” It’s really idiotic, to be honest. First, because you know almost less than zero about what goes on, and second (and perhaps most importantly) you’re actively recruiting AGAINST the team you profess to root for. Everyone gets that your aghast at what we’ve seen this year. Maybe there are mitigating circumstances, issues that aren’t just “this guy sucks”, and maybe what we just witnessed from Harbaugh took a while to cook. I wonder how many of the commentators, like you, were here in 2020 calling for Harbaugh to be let go, and shouting that he’s never going to beat OSU and win it all. I’ll bet many. Sometimes it’s best to just sit back and quietly observe especially when there’s so much that we’re not privy to behind the scenes. Go Blue!
