I’ve lived, and eventually will have died for David Bowie since he told a very depressed 9 year old that there was a Starman, and it’s worth hanging in.. the oddity is, I only ever owned one Bowie album, Heroes, when it came out, and I never saw him live. I can’t answer why..but it was Bowie the man, even more than the music I think..it was his mind. I was only a kid when I absorbed every second of Cracked Actor, I hung on his every word..he inspired me, steered me right. And has had this uncanny ability to turn up in my life with the right thing at the right time. A very recent family tragedy saw him turn up again with the right thing at the right time, which was Sweet Thing…which led to me purchasing my second ever David Bowie album..and Diamond Dogs is deep. At 61, in 2024, I can only marvel at how astute a still very young man David was. Diamond Dogs is a genius of an album…he was, without doubt, a visionary, and he missed nothing. All this to say, that at this late stage of my life, my record/cd collection looks like it’s going to be expanding.

@@matildasalika8757 Yes Matilda...i think if he didnt become unwell, the world would of seen and heard more incredible music from him. He was the greatest for me.

@@dannymiles6503 he also had a great sense of humor, so smart and intellectual person..!!! I combined most of my significant moments with some of his songs. It's more than music for me. I think it's more than music for most of us. It's the whole philosophy he represents. I hope his soul exists in a higher level of existence.!!!! ❤️❣️💝💖🌹

@@matildasalika8757 For sure, he had the best sense of humour and he was the greatest solo rock artist/performer ever. I always turned to him in times of joy and also in times of depression and self doubt to give me strength to survive.

A favourite Bowie song of mine. Such a complex piece of music with such intense and graphic lyrics portraying such a vivid picture of a desperate world in decline as a metaphor for Bowie's inner world at that time perhaps. Such genius. cttgaegoaktd 😛😛😛😛😛😛😛

It was the Diamond Dogs Tour, not the Diamonds Dogs Tour as mentioned on the cover of the LP and the CD. Anyway; great version, Sweet Things is so good👍

Sorry, MT, but I don’t know how to send a PM. Are you aware of some books/ mags that came out a few years ago by a company called Cygnet Committee: fine art photos and concert reports in a really well produced series (6 or 8?) I’ve just bought one and want to track down the rest, but the company link is closed off. Thanks for your time and consideration, matey. Regards, Steven Anybody else know about these?
@TheMickyt692 жыл бұрын
Never heard of them matey but good look with your quest I'd ask in some of Bowie related Facebook groups lots of knowledge in some of those
