Million dollar question: did you buy back your old Civic for that engine swap? One thing I'd been keen to learn is not only how to do an engine swap, but how you deal with the paperwork? (annual inspection, insurance, ...or is the swap all on a 'need-to-know' basis and do you swap back for the inspection?) All in all, really cool vids and the expert is absolutely blowing my mind with his yoda-like expertise...clearly I haven't even begun to learn 😂

The current owner only sold the engine in parts and not as whole package for some reason so I wasn't interested. Anyways, long wall of text incoming: If you want to register an engine swap here and the car is from 1998 or older then you need to have the documentation of the engine (preferably the vin of the original car cut out or the car documents if you use a parts car, otherwise a receipt from a wrecking yard will do as well. This is mainly done so you can prove that the engine is not from a stolen vehicle) Then you need to show that you upgraded your brakes and chassis so it can handle the horsepower increase. (usually some bigger brakes, proper tires and some strut bars do the job) and thats it. You only need to register it if your car has 35% more horsepower than stock or if you change the cylinder amount. As long as the engine isnt stolen and it isnt a complete hack job it isnt too hard to register the swap. However.... Is the car older than 1998 then it has to go to a special facility and you need to do more special tests to see if it is all done properly. A test like that can cost between 1200 and 1800 euro and there is a chance you fail so most people prefer to register an engine swap with a car older than 1998. Luckily this civic is from 1986 so I wont have much issues registering it!

Hi, do your civic has a lot of rust? Or nothing ? Becouse its quite common to have rust at the 'dorpels' with these civics

It doesn't have rust actually, maybe it had been fixed in the past but it doesn't look like it. I probably just lucked out finding a rust free one :)

You don't have to upgrade to 15 in rims. Falken azenis comes in a 195 60 14.
