Great reminder of what music was all about. The snowflake generation has no concept of real music. They Just aren't capable, because it requires thought and creativity. Sadly the snowflakes today Just understand the beauty of real music.

Yup! Lots of people get dazzled by drummers who play very fast - and there isn't anything wrong with that. But it causes some people to focus on the speed thing and they miss how fricking amazing Bill is/was (as a drummer). His playing is always so fascinating to me - and very original. He is by far my favorite drummer.

Not gonna lie this is one of the best things I've ever watched. Made me so happy. In the late 90s, Bruford and Liebzeit were huge influences on me, though I lacked the technical ability and the discipline to get anywhere near their levels. Its worth also saying that there are fast drummers and there is/was Sean Reinert 🙏😢

This was back when The Midnight Special would give Americans a chance to see groups they had only heard about. The first album I ever purchased was "Court of the Crimson King" but never had the opportunity to see them live. There was a chance to see the Adrian Belew version in the 1980s, but it was too far away for a road trip (New Orleans, maybe). Looking through their tour history, they didn't come to Houston or Texas much, if at all.

My dad bought this for me when I was about 11 in 1992. If there is one song that I could pinpoint as the reason I toured in prog bands for almost 20 years, this would be it.

Thank you for posting this! I haven't seen this since it first aired. Looks and sounds great! I remember MS used that saturation effect on Edgar Winter's Frankenstein, but that was AFTER they used it here. The Bee Gee's hosted this episode, and made a joke of saying "King Crimson" fast three times.😁
