When you showed the finished staircase the first word out of my mouth was WOW! That's the staircase 2 flights down. Then, space heaters?!? I think I'll just leave my kit under the bed and enjoy watching you build your's Ben. 👍🙂

Excellent video as always. It's the 1st class entrance, the most luxurious suites are accessible through there (the ones with the private promenades) and the grand staircase is just in front of the vestibule.

This is good stuff and the Woody's mods are brilliant. If people cut out the Trumpeter staircases very carefully it may be possible to modify them to use for the lower deck staircase if they don't want to buy even more staircase parts. Great video on this detailed stuff. 😉

Ben I would reference the plans for the Aft Grand Staircase on B Deck. The opening shape that you have currently is the A deck opening. If you were to try to glue a set of stairs on B Deck to go up to A deck, it would not work. I have been researching this ship for 30 years and this is the only mistake i have seen you make so far.

Thanks Christina! I appreciate it. I think the openings that Trumpeter has are the same on both decks. The definitely do not match the real ship. But now that you have brought this to my attention, I'm going to double check things before moving forward. Thanks for the heads up!

Hello again Nora and Ben. Great progress going on there, carry on please. One thing I noticed. In all of your builds I have yet to see you using a 'glue-squito'. It is a glue/CA applicator made by inserting the 'eye' end of a sewing needle into a wine cork, piece of wood dowel, etc (you may have to make a whole first) and then using the pointed end as the applicator. Very effective in small parts. Stay well and safe ! Ed

Great video once again. I was looking at both sets of staircases from Woodys and 3D printing and Woodys forward 3d printed staircase is slightly bigger. I was planning on doing the same thing as you are. The forward dome area, I've cut out the top part so that you can look into the Grand Staircase. Mines all still in loads of pieces and i'm nowhere near your progress as I want to see any pit falls first as I will be installing the Magic Scale Modelling lighting kit with extra LED's for the promenades etc. My build is on hold until I've seen yours complete and can choose from all the extras. 'Going to need a bigger wallet". All the best to you both. Sean from the UK.

Just a thought, but since you've cut away the Trumpeter staircases (as I will be doing on my model). I intend to repurpose the thinner 'side-staircases' from the scrap to scratch build the steps of the interior of the Boat Deck second class entrance at the back. The staircase looped around the elevator shaft housing and windows in that area are large enough to justify adding the detail (and I hate seeing things go to waste if I can help it). Just throwing that out there in case you might want to do the same.

Yes you can paint it. That’s the same material your kit parts are made of.

Ben, what are your plans for the windows viewing into the blank portion of the Q1 kit deck? There are lots of windows in the area and I am adding lights similar to you. Part of me wants to put lights behind them and fog up some acetate on those windows but I feel like it might look inconsistent next to the clear ones that do reveal details, especially when the lights aren't on.
