Ripsaw M5 is a robotic combat vehicle (RCV) developed by team Ripsaw, which consists of Textron Systems, Howe & Howe, and FLIR Systems.
The RCV is built based on Howe & Howe’s expertise in building purpose-built ground vehicles, such as EV3-F1, EV3-F2, and EV3-F4. The vehicle also uses FLIR’s technological innovation and experience in unmanned vehicle technology and Textron’s expertise in defense and technological disruptions.
The team Ripsaw exhibited the M5 RCV at the 2019 annual meeting and exposition of the Association of United States Army, held in October 2019.
The service also demonstrated the ability to operate the vehicle from a control station installed inside a modified Bradley Fighting Vehicle, highlighting the potential for pairing M5s with manned platforms in the future.

It has great potential for developing future systems. By 2030 the US military wants to have manned and unmanned autonomous vehicles and aircraft working together

If the optics are covered somehow, that’s the end of that, right?

That's right for every Tank. Optics dead is Mission kill. The vehicle has at least 4 camera assemblies in the Chassis and one one the turret. Electronic Warefare is a greater threat than optics kills in my opinion.

We humans shouldn't rely too much on robots replacing human soldiers, because robots don't have a heart of honor. We humans, on the other hand, have a heart and we must be the ones to win the war with our own hands, otherwise it means that we have learned nothing from history!

Send a couple to Ukraine and see how it fares... I'd be interested t know how well it deals with real-world combat! Can those tracks handle a grenade? I'm sure it's already been tested and it might prove useful in clearing trenches!

Tank crews are responsible for repairs and maintenance. If a track breaks, you go out and fix it. That won't be possible with remotely operated tanks. The whole paradigm will have to change. You'll have to have unmanned 'rescue vehicles' that retrieve broken tanks so they can be repaired in a garage. But with the money the US spends, there could be A LOT of tanks in a battle and this method of retrieval and refurbishing could be made to work with strong logistics. The other issue is the radio signals. Those can be jammed, and Russians do use lots of EW. Some on-board AI would be basically necessary. What good is a radio controlled tank if you don't have control of the radio waves in the air? Anyway, AI will be coming to all these remote controlled vehicles within the next 10-15 years and signal jamming won't be as much of an issue then. The robots of the future will have some programmed mission goals and methods for accomplishing them, without need for human intervention. When you consider how well a computer can spank a human at Chess or Go or painting a Rembrandt, it seems inevitable that whoever can leverage this ability into the many facets of war -- from strategic planning to on-the-go tactical decisions to clockwork-like precision with various weapons to instant communication with team mates -- will pretty much win by default. And due to the diminishing need of manning everything with individual soldiers, the numbers of men in an army will become more irrelevant with time. As robots take over more and more, including the production of other robots and the extraction and processing of materials used to build the robots, I can imagine some exponentially huge armies in the future that can be run entirely by a company of a few thousand people. Kind of terrifying, really.

Military equipment has anti jamming capability. The drone itself is much easier to detect and shoot down or jam. No country has the capability to jam American equipment. Russia can’t even Jam Ukraine’s 45 years old air defense systems and military equipment Easterners are so jealous of America but love giving us money and making us even richer. Keep using American social media and technology. Keep giving us money
