I tuned in for the motorcycle ride but appreciate the brief history lesson and views of the bridge. You're right about the freedoms enjoyed by Europeans and westerners being a direct result of your grandfather's service. A heartfelt thank you to him and your family for your sacrifices.

Great sentiment on our WWII heroes. I was lucky enough to travel to Bergen Op Zoom Netherlands with my grandfather in '04, who fought with the Canadian army and their regiment was part of that town's liberation. We went to Nijmegen and on to Arnhem for some 60th anniversary VE Day events. Before that, we stayed in East Grinstead, visited a now - private boys school where in 1944 he stayed with other soldiers before the D Day invasion. Also some local pubs where they hung out. What a trip that was. thanks for bringing back the memories for me and honouring our veterans.

First video of you that I'm watching and it's absolutely splendid. Well done. At 15.58 you're about a kilometer of my home actually, so that's nice to see as well. And you're absolutely right about the history of this area. A lot happened between here and Arnhem/Nijmegen. 17th of September we have the Market Garden commemoration on the Ginkelse Hei (about 10km along the highway from 15.58). It's still amazing. Hundreds of paratroopers from several countries jump then and we even had veterans jumping up to 2014 or so. Sad to hear your grandfather lost his life here in the war. He paid the ultimate price for our freedom. I can't take enough time to remember and thank these wonderful people who gave their lives for all of us.

Great ride TMF I was stationed in Osnabruck Germany with the Army for years. Holland and Germany were extremely clean and organized. My buddy bought a brand new ZZR600 their after we came back from a 6-month tour in Bosnia, I bought his car from him, he then proceeded to get his laces caught in the foot pegs and dropped the Kawi on its side and bust open the crankcase with all of 10km on it... Ironically I had to give him a ride home in his car I just bought, while he sulked like a baby all the way back to Devon... Thanks for taking us along for the ride!!!
