As a side note, if you do commit to include the Street to your garage, there is an anodized brake reservoir as an optional extra for not so much money. Yes, I agree it should be there as standard, as should a radiator cover.

Had the yellow for 3 months now. Get the suspension dialled in for your weight and set it right and it’s plush yet firm. Absolutely perfect and doesn’t get out of shape like my old R. I had the 2018 R previously which has the same suspension and brakes as the new R and its a nice step up I think. My 3rd Street Triple and the best. Yes TFT is same as Tiger but smaller and is the weak point with the bike but it’s a minor disappointment and I owned a Tiger so knew what I was getting 😂 And if all else fails I can just stare at it because in the yellow it looks great to my eyes.

I completely agree the T plane crank is a major mistake. I tried one when they came out , I think about three years ago. It just felt "rough" and "lumpy". Unlike 120 degree "classic" triples. I could have been vaguely interested in a Tiger 900 , if it had a 120 degree crank and 17 inch front wheel . As it is I'm more interested in a Yamaha Tracer 9 GT , for a 2 up tourer type bike. If Triumph really wanted to make a twin adventure bike, why not just make a twin ? I guess a bit less effort to just make a silly T plane crank, and matching cam shaft , and keep the existing way of casting of the block. The T plane crank to me is a gimmick.

I'd love your opinion on this compared to a BMW S 1000 R? I had one of them when they came out here in Australia in 2014 and absolutely LOVED that thing. I loved the power, the handling and the ride in general. I did find it could be a very harsh ride on roads that were a pretty old and patched many times but, mostly it was great. I wound up having a very bad accident thanks to a dill launching his 4X4 wagon out into me at 100 kph which has had me too wrecked for too long but now, starting to really want another one but, this is a fair bit cheaper, I'm getting on at near 70 and may not even be able to do the sort of miles I was clocking up before. I know I loved that BMW but maybe this could do the job and be just as exciting? I SHOULD probably be looking at a big tourer but, I have always hated great overfat things with big but sluggish engines, I DO love light, high performance and great handling machines. I also have a completely stuffed left knee so that weight issue comes in to that too. I am really liking the way this seems to go, despite the hp and torque difference of the BMW having 165 hp and 114 NM of torque compared to this's 121 hp and 79 MN torque which suggest it's probably going to pull pretty darned good at revs but needs those revs to go much more than the BMW. I haven't ridden one of these either so a comparative ride description would be really appreciated, especially considering age and many many injuries suffered over many years of riding and racing. Thanks in advance. EDIT: You quoted 128 HP. Mine figures are from the AU dealership and maybe they're slightly different emissions or state of tune. Odd that they'd differ though. As for riding modes, stuff them. On my S 1000 R I put it in dynamic pro, turned off traction control and anti lock on the rear and kept it like that, rain hail or shine. When new, first rain I tried their silly rain mode and it was so doughy it was difficult to ride in some ways. It's called THROTTLE CONTROL BMW!! Just tell people to ADAPT to conditions!

Great review as always Andy...l did watch the R review...Couple of observations. With the best suspension in the world its still set as a compromise isn't it. l have the suspension set up for Er' spirited riding... but its only relevant for good surface roads... move onto a more agricultural road and it becomes painful.... Coping with UK's bumpy, pot holed roads demands respect...Secondly my Striple was initialy fitted with Pirelli Corsa's. Here in Spain they stuck to the hot roads like they were glued, unfortunately they soon wore out, so now l use Pirelli Rosso Mk 3, which again is a compromise, in cost and possible grip, albeit a small one... The Triumph Street Triple 'IS' the benchmark of the genre, always has been.... l still ride my 2014 version, it's immaculate to look at and rides beautifully... If my pension would run to the latest RS l would do it...

Nice bike and would love one!! But over here in New Zealand cost is a bit high for it ( $23,000.00 ) Would love to hear your thoughts on the Yamaha MT-07 2023. keep up the good work.

Hello Sir, I am between this and s1000r. I am a small rider 1.74 and 70kg and most of the ride is in town commuting and I really don't know what to choose, I've tested and liked them both...

A well balanced review Andy. Excellent. Your comments about the difference in ride quality between the R and RS are pretty much evident in your early onboard shots, simply by watching the ‘shake’ of your helmet cam. I think it would have to be the relative plushness of the R for me, with my slightly dodgy back
@grotesqo8570 Жыл бұрын
It's got fully adjustsble suspension, including fork preload. You can dial it in to any characteristics you want, and get it set just right for your weight. It's quite firm setup from factory, but you can get it very plush and comfortable, while still being sharp.
@stephenspiteri_zunkus Жыл бұрын
I do wish that Triumph gives out more info about the spring rates of these bikes. If they’re the same then the holing could emulate the R shock no problem.
@grotesqo8570 Жыл бұрын
@@stephenspiteri_zunkus I agree, that would be nice. There's charts for different suspension settings in the owners manual, but not much info (i think..?) on rider weights and spring adjustment settings, rear sag etc. You'll have to find that for yourself, but not knowing where to start it's a bit of trial and error. But worth it!
@Maverick-moto Жыл бұрын
@@grotesqo8570 You can tweak compression and rebound damping I agree, but changing preload on the front or rear doesn’t affect the spring rate (as Stephen alludes to)
@grotesqo8570 Жыл бұрын
@@Maverick-moto Yes, but that's the case for every motorcycle ever made ;) So if the spring rate is wrong for your weight, you'll always need to change springs on any bike.

Got the US'24 765 Moto2 (dayglo racing yellow) ... intake noise doesn't bark like my '18 765 RS did. But the power under 8K is a lot better, the original RS was high strung w/hot cams. 765 is an easy bike to get along with. But when I climb back onto my Speed Triple 1200 RS ... hot dog there is no comparison, the 1200 is a gd beast. Just the frame gets stupid hot if stuck in traffic, and it goes too fast all the time. 765 is good fun, less serious. I kinda prefer the steering stability of the 1200 over the super nimbleness of the 765. I also have a Ducati twin (Monster 937 SP) it's just a totally different engine style, hard to compare.

Suspension is adjustable, surely you could just adjust the suspension to be less harsh?

Excellent review Andy. Keep up the great work! I know you've got a Kawasaki Z900RS SE, but if you didn't, and had a choice between the Kawasaki Z900RS SE and this Triumph Street Triple 765RS, which one would you go for?
@TheMissendenFlyer8 ай бұрын
Well I did have that choice of course (I could have bought the street triple instead)…so I have to answer the Kawasaki….dont forget I owned a street triple for 10 years so have them out of my system for now (great bikes though)….

I just noticed they did not match the front fender color to the tank and paint it yellow/gold?
@backontwowheels9469 Жыл бұрын
The problem is they all look good, if I could i would add one to the garage, along with a dual sport and possibly a HD of some description. Not enough days to ride them all, then it is how do you choose between them 🤔 Sticking with the speedmaster and waiting to see what the off-road small capacity bike will look like when they bring it out 😉

Another great review of an awesome news bike TMF love the colour but it actually comes across in the video as orange not that it's a problem as it looks the nuts!! But again why so much black they are not all body coloured ie the front mudguard the bits on the side of the radiator part of the rear part of the panels & again no coloured wheels such a shame yet again from triumph!!! 🙄🥺 Anyway no more moaning as its a stonking great bike you best go buy one if its that good!! 👌🏻👍🏻😁 All the best Dave... 😃

A cracking machine, no doubt. I think, however, like you, I'd gravitate toward the R. As you state, it's got all the real-world performance that you'd want, it's lighter and, of course, cheaper. Still, if more bells and whistles are one's thing, the RS is the one to go for. Love the colour on this, though. The Triumph site appears to show just one colour choice for the R; black with a red frame. Please correct me if I'm wrong. As with the appraisal of the R, a good review. Looking forward to your next 'Classic' overview.

I had an 05 scorched ochre Speed Triple, a beautiful colour that really glowed in the sunshine. The RS looks just as good. I'm a Speed Triple fanboy currently riding a Diablo Red S model but could well be tempted in moving down to this "lesser" range of Street bikes, but can't work out if it would be Yellow or Red? They do look and sound wonderful, at a great price 🙂

@@TheMissendenFlyer the revised Street 765 seems to have avoided the difficulties Triumph had with the launch of the 1200. Aside from owners saying it's a different bike to the 1050, the teething problems it had has put me off.

Bugger. Just trimmed down to one bike, from a Tiger 900 GT Pro and Kawasaki Ninja 1000 SX, and now Triumph bring this out.... might be in for a spanking if I go back to two bikes again so soon. Perhaps next spring I might get away with it, should be some second-hand ones around then....or maybe not!!!! Same tiny complaint that Triumph colours are a bit dull (except on the RS). I would prefer the R as a bike, for my needs and riding style (ie not going hell-for-leather everywhere) but why can't they offer the R in those colours as well???? Baffles me. Great back-to-back reviews.

@colindeans5972 Жыл бұрын
Or go wild and not have one. Much better in my opinion.
@stephenspiteri_zunkus Жыл бұрын
Sadly they have to compete with other manufacturers that have them. Most people buy bikes from looking at specs mostly. What I wish is that Triumph fit the same TFT on all the high end bikes. That way it’ll be more corporate and easy for clients to move from one bike to another.

I recently watched your speed triple 1050 rs review and was wondering how this stacked up to that in your mind? I know the last 1050 had about 20hp more and gobs more of torque, but in the street how would they compare? Used prices for those are comparable to the new street S by me rn

Yellow and the red look fantastic. Seems they’ve made the bike better for the road overall than the 2018 I had (and didn’t love nearly as much as the 2010 675r I had before). Question on the suspension though - presumably you can dial out some of the harshness you felt over the R to make it less track focused?
@TheMissendenFlyer Жыл бұрын
Yes I assume so…..

Dial out ............... LoL. You mean fit a spring with the correct rating for his weight. It is likely too stiff even on the R!
