After testing a few nakeds including the KTM and MT 09 SP. I purchased a Street Triple RS. have done 1000 miles in the last couple of weeks around the peak district and north wales. The bike is a beauty and with the added reliability over some competitors it feels like the perfect road machine, happy on the edge of the tyres and comfy when getting to the good roads. Looking forward to many more fun miles over the next 4-5 years before i go for another new bike. Cheers for all the coverage on this bike class, these reviews have been a great help in what to look for and what to test on each bike!

@SquireSCA

Any difference in top end power, is easily fixed with an ECU flash from an Android device. Since 2020, the R and RS have the exact same motor, same tune, etc... The only difference is the ride by wire tables. The RS delivers 100% power when you ask it to, while the R doesn't. Fuel and ignition tables are identical, the only difference are those ride by wire tables. Think of it like... The R model's Sport Mode, is like the RS's Road Mode. The RS has one more, higher power mode than the R, that's it.

Another great video, thank you guys. I do have to disagree on the last part. I just don't get why manufacturers link tc and abs to wheelie control while the tech is available to separate them,l. At least be able to keep abs on. It would be nice to be able to rely on it while entering a corner, just to exit it on the rear wheel.

So........Thai-rumph say no one is going to buy a Daytona version? You know, 'cos it 'wouldn't sell'. Really? But, they're going to buy the 'sit up and beg' RS and R, with all that jolly windblast past 80mph, but hey it's nice and comfy for tootling along like a Royal Enfield? If I am correct, the limited version of this with the clip ons but God awful colour scheme sold out ruther quickly. The only ones who think a Daytona would not sell are Triumph, I suspect.

I don't buy the "our customers just want something simple" excuse for not having separate wheelie & traction control. It doesn't have to be complicated. It wasn't complicated on my old S1000R or my current 790 Adv (dynamic pro on the BMW and Rally mode on the KTM disable wheelie control, no crazy menu diving required). My actual guess is it's just some dumb liability reasons. It's a shame because other than some annoying things like this with the electronics package (and weird TFT displays), modern Triumphs are nearly faultless.

For the record, triumph will NEVER allow you to switch the nannies off, and have them remain off upon keying the bike on and off. I just took my daytona to the track and almost forgot to put the abs in circuit mode (which was great btw. Bottomed out before abs could kick in 😂) a couple of times. In a day where so much is happening, this is one more thing to remember. But then, the lawyers will win this one every time. 🤷‍♂️

A good audio experience is very much like making love to a beautiful woman, eg Lay her down on the deck, bring her up to speed with a flick of the finger (33rpm) , check your stylus for fluff, gently clean the groove with a soft bristle brush, lower your stylus into the groove, don't nudge it too hard or you might slip out the groove and damage your diamond tip, finally lay back and enjoy the experience till you reach the runout groove...

The RS 765 although it’s ohlins, is stiffer, which is why I went for the ‘R’ The Triumph R is more supple over small bumps compared with mt09, and handles just as well at speed, so 1-0 to Triumph. (And yes, I’ve adjusted the suspension on both) to get the best out of them, stock road setting on Triumph was spot on though) However, the mt09 has a stronger pulling engine, feels like it has more torque. The Triumph feels more refined, the MT09 a bit more spicy. You can get your elbow down on any bike, at least once.

RS all the way. You get a LOT more for the money. And if you prefer the stance of the R, simply remove the 10mm spacer from shock.

I'm very very tempted by these. The extra £1700 doesn't seem that terrible. If you added up how much those parts would cost to buy separately that is...

I picked mine up on Friday, I can confirm the ohln rear shock and the other bits and bobs on the RS are well worth the money (in my opinion). I ended up putting another £1000 of extras on mine. Plus I was lucky enough to get the Cosmic Yellow, which pops in the sunlight. Extremely happy chappy over here 👌🏻

@paulb3243 Red is better. I think the yellow would get old pretty quick. Red is simply GORGEOUS in sunlight!

They looked better in 2017. I like aspects of the new fairings and whatever..but eh.

You know, manufacturers could just keep reducing fuel capacity down to absolutely zero. That would make the bike handle super light, and the weight would be minimized. And it wouldn't run.
