That variation in CPMs is insane! It looks you were making anywhere from $5 to $5000 per 1000 views depending on the day

5000$ per 1k views? Wtf dude? Let's not exaggerate here.... Usually 5k views makes you around 100-300 bucks if u have stories that are at least 2k-3k words keeping people there to read them fully.

I have started writing on medium on August, still I don't get anything! Just I am doing that as my hobby.

Same here. I started with 4 in October but none so far. A little low on motivation :)

its all about the title of your article.

I really like your channel and like the income reports as it helps me see how other channels make their income. I do find it crazy that you don’t have huge views on your videos, but then I have found lately that my impressions are not that huge compared to other months, even though my CTR and view duration is up. I am thinking that we can sit in a certain barrier point and will increase once YT opens the gate to the next level. Like you, I have had some high views on videos and I have decided to stop looking at analytics and just concentrate on doing videos and be happy that people look at it. I have not yet worked out how ad sense will not be my primary income…😉 Would love to see more ideas on how you came to make the products and other income on youtube.

I've had all of these thoughts and questions and optimism exactly! I definitely thought Adsense would grow throughout the year with subscriber increase but, if anything, it goes down a little at a time each month with random "good" months. But yes, just focus on quality content and consistency. Cream always rises to the top! And patience is key. Most give up. I won't because I love it and would do it for free at this point :) And try to expand beyond Adsense with affiliate partners. I just wish I had more time to grow that part of it. One tip I'm finding to help - write the title of the video/article before you even start writing or researching. I'm starting to think topic is MORE important than the perfect title or thumbnail. Best of luck - I'll check out the channel!!

I’m curious. I have been writing on Medium for a year and half. I earned my first 3-figure month back in September 2023. I notice that you also had a great September. I also notice that several writers of the community were surprised about their earning in that month. Do you know why September is such a huge month every year?

What highlights even mean? Is it visible for only that reader or for all? Cuz a reader recently highlighted some stuff from an article of mine... And I can see what are those phrases when logged in to my account... Later I checked via incognito browser and there were no highlighted parts. What is the value of highlighting and who is this for? I don't really understand what it does.

Readers can highlight parts and it saves it for them. As a writer you get to see that. The value is you get to see what parts resonated with readers as feedback. 👍
