I've only discovered this channel. I really like the useful information, the reviews, and the style/banter of the presenters/cameramen. You developed a conversation approach which seems like having a chat with your knowledgable mates. Great stuff.

Great advice. What would you do if you've got a petrol engine and storing the van? We haven't used the van since August and probably won't start up again until March (20210). I know petrol goes 'off' so what would you recommend to do?
@TheMotorhomeMan3 жыл бұрын
You can buy fuel additives or other option is to run the fuel down low and put fresh fuel in

Some good useful information, thank you. Regarding the fridge and heating, I heard a tip to use the fridge, water heater and heating on gas only, for the last day before the end of each holiday, as you say it helps keep the parts in good working order and also prevents corrosion setting in. I do most of what you say in this video but not the window rubbers, which I will do today, and also the hand break off and in gear. I declared the motorhome SORN during this lockdown, for obvious money saving reasons, but I do miss giving the moho a good run every 2 weeks down the A38. I will make sure I run the engine at least once a week for about 20 minutes with air con on. I would like to buy an air line compressor for use at home, is there anything for the home DIY which is not too expensive, any suggestions?
@TheMotorhomeMan4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Robert the majority of problems you get with Motorhomes is lack of use.Air compressor ours cost about £100.00 and we have had it for about 7 years.

Unfortunately my motorhome is in lock down as i store at my local dealership which is closed untill we come out of this. Luckily i went down on the Sunday before the the lock down to wash and polish it as it had not been done for a couple of months as it was in at Fiat for a recall on its brakes,so it had a run out. It should be ok as i have 150 wstt solar panel on the roof so the leisure battery and vehicle should be ok plus the leisure battery is a 100 amp lithium. I can't wait till we are out again as we normally go out at least twice a month.

If you start your van and leave running you are going to trash the EGR valve a lot quicker than normal you need to ideally run the van out not sit it on the drive on idle even for 20 mins , I had my EGR valve by doing exactly this the guy who came and diganosed wion the Grenn Flag recovery man of the year 3 times and said this is the most common thing he gets called out to on motorhomes and campers he also said a good run once a month is the best way to keep the van in top condition run it out for a min of 40 miles ideally 50 miles once a month, You have been warned by someone who has done what this bloke here is telling you to do and it cost me over 300 quid to fix it as well.
@krustykamper4 жыл бұрын
Got to agree with this, bad advice from experience. Also dont EVER start the engine uness you are sitting in the vehicle. Especially as recomended here leaving the hand brake off and in first gear...

Looks like you are being kept busy during the lock down period with maintaining your stock whilst you wait for normal business to resume. Must be stressful having all that stock and not being able to trade at the busiest time of the year.
@TheMotorhomeMan4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment I really appreciate it.Jacqueline I only go in once a week to check up on my vans.Stress is working in a hospital or any other support teams right now.As part of any business you have to plan for bad times with which we had planned for but did not expect this so we are fortunate enough to take the hit.There will always be busy times in the future.😃
