I also kinda like how Kat’s “alt girl” approach is explained by her background with the disgusting guys at her school. Multiple of them harass her throughout the movie, and as a girl who grew up going through most of high school without a mom, her attitude makes a lot of sense. It also really explains why she wants to go to the all-women’s art college so bad tbh

I agree with your 2nd sentence but I'm not sure about the 1st one. Kat is softer at the end. Bianca shows a tougher side at the end (that kick and punch to Joey on the dancefloor was something one would expect from Kat character at the beginning of the movie, not Bianca). I'm not even sure what you mean by "feminine transformation" (their style ? their behaviour ? their hobbys ?) and I really don't think the difference between Kat and Bianca is a different femininity (Kat never stroke me as "less feminine" than Bianca, she's just less popular and less social)

The other kids present are going to tell everyone “Kat showed her boobs in detention!” All so she could sneak him out of detention. Why?

I think it was a good thing that Patrick didn't kiss Kat when she was drunk (even though they're playing it off as though she wasn't...), but I do also see why she was upset. I think, in her eyes, Patrick had been pretty persistently pursuing her, and then when she finally let her guard down and showed an interest he backed off, leaving her feeling like she'd just been almost kind of pressured or duped into opening herself up, only to be immediately rejected. Not that Patrick should have done anything differently in that situation. I can just see why Kat, drunk or sober, would be left feeling embarrassed and might try to ameliorate her inner situation by icing him out again. If only they were both older and wiser, then Kat could understand that Pat was right to not kiss her when she was drunk, and Pat could be better with words (perhaps something along the lines of, "I would love to kiss you, but it would be more meaningful and real if we were both sober" would have saved a lot of drama).

She wouldn't have been fine with it, she would have been mad as hell with Bianca and Cameron but they are letting Kat think that Joey used her, again, just because telling her would make her mad at them, which she has every right to be. 40:00 Gah! She has the perfect opportunity to fess up to her sister. And telling her the truth would make her feel better in the long run, sure she'd be angry as hell at first, but once she's had time to think about it I think she'd decide that it's better to have been manipulated by Bianca than Joey. Also without this information her forgiving Patrick makes no sense. I feel these's a scene missing in here somewhere to explain why Kat forgives Patrick. If she really thinks he was working for Joey all the time there's no reason she would.

Being lucky doesn’t make it not true. I fell backwards down some stairs as a kid, I was fortunate not to break anything, but if someone points out falling down stairs is dangerous I’m not going to give an emoji stare. It’s okay to note you did risky things without realizing they were risky at the time. Dancing on tables and chairs that weren’t built for that is is of those times. 👁 👄 👁 ... 😛

So I haven't read all the comments and if someone else has already shared, sorry. Some trivia. The teacher you guys loved, Mr. Morgan, is played by Daryl Mitchell. In 2001 he was in a motorcycle accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down. I think it's pretty cool that he's managed to keep his acting career going. Right now, he's in a tv show. Also Bianca's best friend is played by Gabrielle Union, who's gone on to star in a lot of hit movies. And she's married in real life to NBA superstar Dwayne Wade from the Miami Heat. I just think their relationship is really awesome because they've been together for awhile and it's rare to have two people in careers that often create massive egos make it work.
@themoviebud19883 жыл бұрын
I don't think anyone else mentioned it. You're right, as difficult as it must have been to deal with that, kudos to him for still pursuing his dreams. That's really sweet to hear about Gabrielle Union's relationship as well. Glad they're happy together ☺ - Stef

I am not defending paying someone to go out with someone. However, from the get go, he respected Kat’s boundaries. He went to places she liked (not condoning stalking, of course) and he made sure she was interested first. When he did take the money, he always used it on her. Never for himself which I kind of respected. He used it for the gestures, their dates, and the guitar. The guitar is a nice gesture because it showed he listened and paid attention to what she wanted which made it a nice apology. And I know people say that fans shouldn’t credit him for doing the bare minimum, but a) some don’t even do that and b) there were previous scenes where he tried respecting Kat’s boundaries previously. Not justifying everything, of course and respect that he like the other characters are flawed.

Great reaction guys! Love that you loved the teacher. His name is Daryl “Chill” Mitchell. Back in the day (80’s) he was a rapper and got into acting with a small part in the 1990 Kid ‘n Play (also rappers) classic, “House Party.” Unfortunately, about 2 years after ‘10 Things…’ Mitchell was in a horrible motorcycle accident that left him paralyzed. Luckily, he survived and is/was still acting last I knew in a pretty good series; “NCIS: New Orleans. Just some info for those that love Chill like I do.
