I like how Scp: CB has literally no good endings. You're either... Disintegrated by a nuke Shot Down by the MTF Captured by the foundation and reclassified as an Scp Kidnapped by the Chaos Insurgency or just killed by the Chaos Insurgency The only remotely good ending is the 4th one, and even then, you still have to live in an anti scp group.

The cultural influence of this game cannot be understated. It turned SCP from a niche 4chan thing into a large community with >4000 articles and even more Tales.
@theplaybunnyarcade3375
@theplaybunnyarcade3375 2 жыл бұрын
Also brought in a ton of new people who had very little care for the community or the lore that promptly co-opted it and scared off most of the original and most prolific creators. It was probably the worst thing that could have happened to it.

@@theplaybunnyarcade3375 Yes, every popular thing is hurt by its popularity. But also look on the positive side! Without containment breach we never would have gotten games like Secret Lab and the like! It's always easy to look back on something before it was popular and see that as "the good old days" but we should also appreciate how many talented writers were brought to the SCP community by this game.
@TheNerevahkiin
@TheNerevahkiin Жыл бұрын
@@theplaybunnyarcade3375 I’d respectfully disagree. I’d say no, not really. Most of the older creators are still around or stuck around for a while. Co-opting isn’t something that can happen with a fanbase, especially for an inherently collaborative writing project like SCP. And it’s not like 4chan had some deep, loving influence over it beyond being the site where the first SCPs were posted. The wiki was created in 2008, and most of its staff are pretty old. Also I’d say the level of care for the site and universe has only deepened over time, you can’t just get write anything and get it approved like you could within the first few hundred (166 is probably the worst case of this…) At the very least, SCPs are more creative, well written, varied and interesting than they were when it originated, when everything was just a nigh-unstoppable murder-beast or a concept taken from another media franchise. Not to say I don’t like 173 or 096 or 682, but I think that more varied SCPs are better overall for the universe.

This game is also ridiculously tough on Keter difficulty. I've spent way too much time trying and failing to beat the game on Keter, and it's painful because I get so close and die to the MTF units because they refuse to move down the hall and let me by.

This legitimately has been the only horror game I loved sense it came out. I hate horror games but this one feels like a fun escape game that legit makes me anxious and scared of the scps.

Scp stands for secure, contain, protect when it comes to the motto of the organization, when used in scp files, it refers to the special containment procedures

The cheat code to beat SCP-173 is just to blink one eye at a time, close one eye, when you feel like you can't old it, just open your other eye and close the previous one.

Believe it or not my SCP introduction was through the song “Keter Qualities” by musiclide. Then I discovered SCP: secret lab with a friend right after scopophobia. Then I went down the rabbit hole of SCP and have never returned.

SO happy i finally got the chance to watch this! The conceit of this whole next series is so interesting, there's so many different things to tackle here. I'm really interested to see how you'll handle all these different games, given that they're all still *Horror* but they all play very, very differently. I noticed you're not doing a ranking this time and I think that's fair, it's hard to compare them to one another. I think it's a good idea that you're taking them all as their own thing! (Ugh, god, i feel old, i remember the old beta with the weird mannequin class d's too, lmao.)

If Im being honest, in your first run, CB is fucking terrifying. 939, 096, 173, 049, and 106 are goddamn scary when they're chasing you. But thats all this game really relies on, is the chase and the anticipation. Theres no jumpscares or anything like that, so in truth theres more terror than fear. And because oft that, its kind of like Subnautica, at first the Reapers and the Ghost Leviathans are terrifying, but then you get used to them and by your 3rd run they are just kinda there. Edit: I still absolutely love Containment Breach though, its one of the only games that I can replay and replay.
