I tend to agree, phones with the 600 level chips at these days are not what we would have considered"slow".... In fact frankly when it comes to basic web browsing and just opening and closing apps, you'd be hard-pressed to tell the difference between a mid-range chip from 2019 and a flagship chip from 2024. Obviously some intensive camera features and pushing high frame rates and blah blah blah... But if you're basically for a phone is web browsing and calling then mid-range chips should do the trick. Of course one great flaw of KZbin reviews is that they're almost always done with pre-release software that nobody will use.

@@drachnayeah even the 765 from 2019 is great... I almost got a Razr 2023. But, I found that you can get a Flip 4 refurb from Amazon for around $350. The Flip 4 is a better phone in ALL ways compared to the Razr 2023. There are 2 things that annoy me about flip phones. The 1st is that they're thick when folded and barely fit in my pants' pockets due to that. 2nd, I use my phone enough to where flipping is becoming a hassle. I thought getting a flip would cause me to use my phone less, but not the case. If when I go to replace my Flip 4 in 2 years or so, I might be willing to try a foldable if I can find an unlocked one at a reasonable price (to me, $599 is the max I spend on a phone unlocked)

The best part about this is that it's being subsidized heavily by prepaid carriers who are offering it for like $200 $250 that is a new situation for the prepaid market, which is sizable in the United States we're very few people actually spend 800 bucks on Android flagships. So sure the enthusiasts who watch this channel would probably spend a few hundred extra dollars and get the eye catching magenta model.... But if you're shoving slick deals and you're seeing that you can get a legitimate brand new flippable for 200 bucks plus maybe a $40 Metro PCS plan (And that's your only financial obligation although it will be unlocked for a few months).... That's a pretty compelling new growth area for flippables

I still stand by saying going to the basic foldable design as a bad decision for the razr because it lost all that made it unique at least to me and tbh the only thing that will get me to consider it over the Samsung alternative would be them adding the headphone jack back into the phone its that much of a selling point to me
@michaelcorcoran8768 Жыл бұрын
I agree at a headphone jack and an SD card. That said I don't blame them for abandoning the nostalgic razor look because it just came to look so dated. Especially on the resale market. But it does suck their phones increasingly look the same. At least they are offered that amazing magenta color and that full screen which was announced long before Samsung was a game changer. And you don't need good lock or anything to open it up to every app. Although it's kind of odd how originally Samsung fans were saying how you wouldn't want to be able to open every app that's not the point.... And then once good lock developers came up with a solution they changed the goal post and was like see Samsung can do it too. I'm generalizing of course, just some of the more egregious Samsung cheerleaders. And I love Samsung I have Galaxy buds and a Galaxy tab and I even have my old Note 9 laying around which I still occasionally use. But second to Apple their fans are the most annoying and sometimes even more so since I only hang out in Android spaces

With smartphones becoming way too big and manufacturers no longer producing smaller smartphones with screens between 4,3" and 5", I'd say the flip smartphones are the future, because they accomodate both qualities into 1 device: 1. Having a large screen, and 2. Converting into a small pocketable size when not in use. I'm still waiting for technology to evolve on this category, as these foldable smartphones still suffer from lack of durability and high price tags, not to mention the issue with the lack of software updates across the years compared to what Apple already accustomed us to for 15 years or more.

Honestly, I'd be more than willing to put up with the shortfalls mentioned in the video, unfortunately, the ONLY way to get any Razr here in Ireland is to pay full price in a big box electronics store. None of the major carriers (Eir, Three, Vodafone) even offer it, which is why ended up going for the Z Flip 5 when my contract came up for renewal. I suspect that Samsung's negotiating power with carriers is going to effectively scupper the Razr outside the US, rather than the technical issues.

Is the camera at least better than the Titan Pocket?

My old phone with SD765G still works just fine (the only apps that lag are the Google's ones). So it must be either a more demanding latest Android version or a bad optimization. P.S. After a second thought, maybe they had to limit the performance due to the thermal footprint. It's rather thin and heat dissipation may not be as good as on a slab.

I'm pretty sure it's not android, I've not noticed any additional load on android itself since android 8, everything since has been incredibly iterative.

3:20 OUCH! Is that why you started using your Viva Magenta Razr+ over your Glacier Blue one?

I love this still of folding phones, much more than the ones that fold like a book. These resemble old flip phones and they fold up smaller, which is nice. I wish Google would make a foldable Pixel like this. I'd be in for sure.

this looks like a great entry flip phone for kids in middle school and high school ----- just like when I had an original Razr in HS.

I switched from Android to iPhone 3 years ago and only reason i'd switch back to android is if they make a flip phone really appealing. This Moto Razr really looks good but I wont get a phone slower than my current phone High end Leather Phone please . I'm a no case guy

I work at a phone store and I actually really like the design of this phone.

I would go back to a razr at this price if it just had that classic razr atheistic like it had before. Now it just looks like another foldable. No nostalgia factor. I need that chin!

I really really really don't get the point of these clam-shell foldables. When do you have a pocket that's big enough for a square but too small for a rectangle the same width? What's the main appeal besides showing off

Why are 7 Gen 1 phones choppy while my 778G in my Moto Edge 2021 is still buttery smooth and hits the 120 fps everywhere in the OS at all times?

They had to rebrand rubber as “vegan leather” because of the unfair stigma around having any plastic or polycarbonate on phones, despite its durability
