The difference with Pebble is that it had a soul. I mean all those little extras that you get and that made the Pebble a friendly product. The other watches are mainly fitness obsessed, or too expensive, or complicated objetcs with useless features and no battery-life.. Pebble was just the good product for a daily smartwatch.

I'll put on a smart watch around 2020 when the graphene batteries come out. A once a week charge I can handle. An everyday charge defeats the purpose of a wearing a watch.

Haha, that very true, they are not the most practical smartphone accessory to have right now, a normal watch does a better job over all, without ever worrying about recharging or pairing and all that. Yeah, may be in the future it may turn out to be a good product, but the idea of wearables isn't something the interest me that much right now. I create tech based contents in my channel, if you got some time please do give it a look.

I have a Samsung Fit 2 and the charge on that lasted days at a time. Whats the issue with charging once a day, especially when its a quick charge anyway? Just charge it when you go shower and eat your breakfast and its done. I never had an issue with that. I did have an issue with Samsungs design and its charging pins *failing* because of apparent corrosion though. GRRRR

I have the Ticwatch S during the kickstarter campaign. I received it a couple of weeks ago. I love it. It's a simple Android Wear watch that is meant for budget buyers. It suits my needs well and functions properly, the 2 things I ask for out on any device. If you want premium features by all means buy a premium Android Wear watch. But for those that don't want to drop $200+, this is for us. People out here are trying to compare it to expensive smartwatches and it's not. Mr. Mobile alluded to that. And the Ticwatch stays in its lane and does it better than anyone out there.

The strip might have been removed for compatibility reasons. With a custom OS, you can build it with the features you want in mind. With Android Wear, you're dealing with a generic OS. The project might have been more than the company was willing to handle.

If LG and Movado can use a rotating crown for scrolling then Ticwatch certainly could have integrated their strip.

I would recommend the smartwatches from Fossil Q Gen 3! Such as the Explorist. The only downside with it was the battery life but that's not really a problem limited to it. You get a smartwatch that is more of a watch with smart features rather than an electronics device that tries to be a watch

I adore my Ticwatch 2. The Ticwatch E looks like a potential replacement if something goes hideously wrong with my 2, but frankly, I'd probably buy a new 2 if this one died. I'm used to the UI, and it seems to do pretty much everything I need. I can control my audiobook listening, set the volume, see notifications from Google Hangouts and reply to them by voice from the watch (so long as the reply is SHORT), and scroll through emails. I have the rubber volcano, and yeah, it feels a bit cheap and ewwww, but I don't have to HOLD the thing for it to WORK. That's the one I have at my bedside. I have an aftermarket (Lamshaw, I think...) stand charger I use next to my workstation downstairs, and have a nifty 3d-printed stand that accepts the regular puck charger that I keep on the kitchen table. I put the watch on it if I'm doing a lot of dishwashing or such. I don't want to risk clobbering the thing with too much of an immersion. Of the three, the volcano works best, because it hangs the watch at a good angle to use it as a bedside clock. The Lamshaw charger works, but I think it tries to charge a tad too fast, as I've noticed it gets the watch just a _skosh_ too warm. The 3d printed one is nice, but it holds the watch at the wrong angle to use it as a clock -- the face is turned 90 degrees off, so the watchface is on its side. A pity, the thing looks pretty. If I could figure out how to set the watch to allow the face to rotate 90 degrees instead of always 180, it'd be great. (You don't happen to know how to do that, do you?) The only thing I find annoying is the distressing lack of 100% compatibility with Android Wear. It limits what more I can do with the watch. But for watchfaces, the ones they have at Mobvoi, plus the paid version of Watchmaker, satisfy my need for new, nifty watch faces. I just wish the Wear compatibility was better, so I could use the moving-map Google Maps watchface. (You don't happen to know...well, you get the drift.) I have a lovely magnetic loop strap on my 2, the Lamshaw with the titanium dioxide rainbow finish. It's stunning, and I've gotten lots of compliments on it. Of course, you have to be careful at restaurants, because the clasp will sometimes pick up silverware when your wrist gets too close to the tabletop.

As you didn't specifically call out anything surrounding performance, I'm going to assume that means it wasn't an issue? I'm fairly certain performance hasn't been too much of an issue on Android Wear since the second generation Android Wear watches started coming out (from what I've heard, not from experience), but I would appreciate some clarification! As a side note, I'm curious, would you personally like to see an Android Wear watch with a fully featured Samsung Pay, or are you smartwatch platform agnostic enough to simply wear a Tizen watch if you want that feature?
@TheMrMobile7 жыл бұрын
Correct, no issues with performance despite the MTK chipset (which I was a little worried about). As for Samsung Pay (with MST technology) -- it's an amazing feature and I'd love to see it everywhere. But Samsung's got the lock on it for now, and soon everything'll be NFC anyway.
