I'm so glad they realise how important this show is for many people, and that they continue to craft it so cleverly and with so much love and such warmth (and many Fanny jokes). Series 3 was fantastic. The final "dinner" scene made me cry even more than series 2... but in a bittersweet kind of way. I hope they can make this show for as long as they want/can, but I'm also looking forward to any future projects they might have as an ensemble, anything these Idiots do is such a treat ❤

I think they do get how important it is. I love how they're not afraid to put real emotion and pathos into what is ostensibly a comedy...that's what makes it. It's how the viewer is able to connect with the characters, and it's what makes them "real" (in that Velveteen Rabbit sense). I was rewatching (again, I'm losing count), and Robin's song to the moon made me cry real, actual tears...and I'd seen it before! We've lost so much empathy in this world, that when a show this loving can open that door just a bit, we want to grab it with both hands. They absolutely MUST be allowed to finish the story in the way that they want. And then, I'm also on board with anything they might do next. They are a shining light, for sure. 💕

This is why they shouldn't have done an American one. Because this is an ensemble show created by an ensemble. As far as I know they didn't cast a comedy troupe or improv group for the American one. If they had done that I would be impressed. That is what makes it so special.

I miss our plague ghosties too. 😢 The first time I watched, I binged all 3 seasons, and when you do that, it actually isn't as noticeable that they're missing, which I suppose is a good thing? But on a rewatch, I watched the Christmas ep after S3, and having them pop up in the carol was a bit jarring. I'm so glad they got a sweet backstory before they had to be tucked away for a while. I really hope they're able to film safely next year (fingers crossed) - there could be a lot of humor in their 'long winter's nap', and, well, I just miss their sweet personalities and dgaf attitudes. 😊 I think there could still be continuity with only one season missed out, because it is canon that they aren't always around and keep to themselves, but two seasons without them would rip a huge hole. 😭

Nice little Christmas moment but I love it so much more than the American series because of how the actors are so iconic (and all have past in comedy separately and together. @@gabz9977 well one actor has been confirmed to be Fanny’s mother, but she didn’t appear in the series. So that means that she’s likely to be in the special. Also, there are no fairy lights in the other scenes so I’m pretty sure it’s for the Christmas one. I’m honestly not sure if it’s been confirmed, but from what we can see it’s bound to happen.

@@gabz9977 not officially but Jennifer Saunders said she would be playing Fanny's mother in a flashback and that didn't happen this series and also Jim once let it slip on twitter that he was filming some ADR for the Christmas special. So that, plus the scenes with fanny and the portrait and Julian and the swimming pool with the Christmas ornaments behind them pretty much confirms it I think. Edit: Also Kiell on twitter while talking about Ghosts said "See you soon" with a ghost and a santa emoji so no doubts now
