I have adored this song upon hearing it in the movie 37 years ago and went to tremendous lengths back all those years ago to find a recording of it. I still adore it today but when I have played it around other people and they ALL hate it. How can one song connect with so few a people but for them so deeply whilst others (the vast majority) can't connect with it at all?

Because people out there have ❤️-less souls. Besides Rita Coolidge was doing well with soundtracks back in the '80s, especially with "All Time High" from the James Bond movie "Octopussy".
