Have everyone play from this shared *top-down* 3rd person perspective People don't naturally move in 3rd person, but sharing a same perspective, hive-mind style, is even more unnatural

@@miles_CanteenHK Yeah but you can just draw a massive boundary. I just reach the beam out as far as I can and spin around in a circle, then move to another room and do the same (don't worry about walls/doors etc, just paint everything). Then the guardian boundary is so big it doesn't actually activate and you can walk around with passthrough on.

With Litchi ( an alternative App for DJI Drones) and a Google Cardbord ( every VR headset witch can hold your phone) you can enable an fpv mode, even let the drone turn while your head turns and let the gimbal turn based on your head movement! Even tough it's only working with your phone as vr headset it should be better than with the quest! -- Just an idea for a follow up or sth! Nice Video!
@b3nsu3 жыл бұрын
I've been thinking about this for so long. Now imagine that your body is simulated virtually around the drone so it's like you're flying in real life. With a neuralink simulating touch of surfaces near the drone that your virtual body is touching it would be absolutely mind blowing

Isn't there a way to disable Head tracking in Virtual Desktop (Head lock option)? You could use that to stream your desktop and use Bluestacks to run the DJI app. This would allow the app to follow your head movements.

That is a trip. Taking that "Walking around while viewing myself through 3rd person" setup to a WHOLE new level. Not as much because of the VR, but because of the drone perspective view. So a really dumb but interesting idea. Fpv drones are basically headsets to see first person view on drones (fpv of course.) But those require manual flying to keep them in the air. I believe there’s some settings on some flight controllers like beta flight that can keep themselves hovering. But having a drone track you is the most difficult part in my opinion. DJI has made a dedicated FPV drone called DJI FPV but i don’t remember if it has the ability to follow someone. My last ditch effort is to grab the HD DJI FPV kit camera and goggles and wire it up to a battery that can attach to your mavic or something so it can chase you down while you move. But of course these are just ideas, not to mention the cost. Unless you’re okay with having the normal fpv goggles that look like vhs tapes. I mean, does anyone have any ideas to create a more efficient method? Because I’m planning on doing this one day and i will do everything i can to create a reliable third person perspective with little to no latency.

Okay seriously these are my two favorite things. FPV and VR, married! I want to try this and I have both things. Im so doing this Saturday! Im as excited as I remember being in a long time. I have a large farm so safety not an issue (unless I fall in a cave) Any way to make the screen larger in the quest 2? I'd LOVE to use the quest 2 like fpv goggles with my dji.
@Ren7223 жыл бұрын
Dude, you weren't playing in third person but in second person which is mind blowing!!!!
@Circle143 жыл бұрын
My recommendations to improve this: First, you need the drone to auto-center to your back as close to real time as feasible. Second, you would benefit from a passthrough picture-in-picture that comes up when certain triggers are met, such as objects moving toward you faster than the background. Third, I highly recommend a rear facing camera with the same safety triggers as the passthrough PiP. Alternatively, use a 360 degree camera on a mount. For example, three fiberglass poles mounted to a hiking pack frame to put the camera above and behind you but stable relative to you. Use a fixed view for your main view but allow a PiP to rotate to other angles of view with a controller.
