The lead singer of The Crystals, La La Brooks, was only 15 when she recoded this back in 1963 for Phil Spector. I talk to her frequently. I think she liked " Da Doo Ron Ron" almost as much.

This takes me back when I was 16 years old. A small village not far from where I lived had Saturday dances in the summertime. I went every week because I liked to dance. This one night when I got there, I saw a new girl none of us guys every saw before. The next song they played was Then He Kissed Me. I didn't hesitate to ask her to dance, and she said yes. She was from Florida and visiting her cousin who lived right across the street. It turned into a three-week love affair for the two of us. Nightly walks and making out nothing more was 1962 when morals still insisted.
