Recently, Digital Extremes flew me to TennoCon18 in London, Canada to be there in person the moment they revealed their biggest and most ambitious update yet. I've been to plenty of gaming events in my time, but I have to say that this one was something special...

It’s clear that DE puts feelings above all else. So does CD Project, so do you, Ralph. That’s why what you bring to the world is so loved and recognized. Specially in a world that brainwashes us to set the pursuit for money/power/fame as the meaning of life. ps.: part of Ralph’s success is due to the fact he’s hot. Jus sayin...

Not going to lie, this review actually made me cry a little, when you put into perspective so beautifully the journey that DE goes through to bring this game to us it makes you think about the amount of passion that must just be poured into a product like this and because of all that passion, all that hard work, all the effort they end up doing amazing things like completely changing up the gaming industry, giving people like my self a career on KZbin and twitch, giving people something to do in their down time, always giving people something to look forward to and be excited about. These developers single handledly make waves with their passion project and that is the this of game I wanna see more of.

AAA had created a playerbase it couldn't control. It scammed us, downgraded us, and skinner boxed us... they brutalized our wallets, but it did not work. Not until DE came... ...and it was not their fair F2P model, not their inventive mechanics, not their engaging movement systems... it was something else. It was that somehow, from within the gaming industry horror, they had learned a way to see inside a jaded, broken fandom... ...and take away its cynicism.

Mark van Eldik Wasn't really a chinese overtake, that company doesn't hold any power over what happens at DE, the only reason they even signed up with them was so they could publish the game in China and that version of the game is the only thing Tencent( i think this was the company? ) has any power over, our international version is 100% DE.

So ugh, just an example of how DE loves their community. To put it simply, yesterday, I accidentally dissolved my Lanka Riven cause I ran out of Endo and was dissolving some mods. I sent a ticket and a lengthy essay explaining my concern that it was an expensive item I bought and worked hard for in-game, expecting that it would never be resolved knowing it was partially my fault all along, and that the expected response time would take at least 2 weeks before I get a reply from a customer service team that probably deals with thousands of players. However, lo and behold, in less than 24 hours, I logged into my account, noticed my Riven count had an extra, and saw my Lanka Riven back in its rightful place: my inventory. And when I watched from this video about someone taping a sign that said "Thank You.", all I can really say to Digital Extremes is...Thank You. Nothing more. Nothing else. But thank you.

@@kondratov8269 You're right, they really are. But think not about missions, but about loot that you will take. It might be obvious, but looter-shooter genre is about growing your power with some stuff like new abilities, equipments or something. So you kill the enemies just to kill them more effective and brutal/cool/cute(don't ask) Once you got 3-4 warframes, at least 1 good modded weapon, all discovered planets and after you complete the second dream(local meme, it's actually the end of the tutorial), the REAL game will start. And the problem is, as you said, missions are repetitive. It's hard to newbie to try hard for 50(!) hours just to start the game. That's why warframe's community is so friendly. We just wasted 50 hours of our life, that's why we can rely on each other.

the game being a PvE game, not a PvP like most games, is a big part of why the community isn't toxic. Im used to play league of legends, and I was SO TOXIC, not in nature just while playing the game. Skill up I say this everytime and I'll say it again man, I proudly welcome u to the warframe community even if u literally sucks at the sacrifice quest, it's go heart warming to see someone enjoy the game so much who isn't a top tier player, it's awesome to hear the pov of someone who clearly understands the vision behind warframe, as an artist it's my dream to have my own career but someday work with de on the side or someday have the pleasure of meeting steve and hand him some of my own ideas and see them implemented. The funny thing is they're akready doing what I haven't even asked fir, but somehow seem to know what I want. They had Me at the hoverboards, that's all I was expecting at tennocon and was ready to accept just that, and then they dropped star wars on me too....I was not ready. The only thing I'm mad at this game about is, idk where the fuck it's been my entire life, I only started playing around 2016, but boy am I glad I found it in time to witness all of this. Skillup, DE has already told you thanks, so as one of many passionate wf players now I too will say thanks for being a part of our community. It's good to have a voice outside of the small world we're used to, and more so avomeone who sees what wf is and what it can be. Someone who isn't perhaps the quickest learner but had an appreciation for the beautiful wirk that de has put in to give us a game I've been searching for forever. I dream of a warframe where everything is seemless and I can jump on my hoverbike and ride off into a busy futuristic open world city and begin a chase sequence going after someone through the heavy traffic chasing them across mountains and through dense crowds. I dream of a wf where my choices affect the environment around me and the pvp is actually properly done. I dream of new factions coming to not just add to lore but bring enemies that'll give me a run for my money not based on how weak or strong I am but genuinely whether or not ivlm skilled enough or possess the resources to take them on. But most importantly, to stop myself from rambling too much more, I dream.of a warfrane where there are more players such as yourself, who I can share the game with. As an artist I will say the shit they teach in colleges where I am, the work I see put into games that used to get my blood boiling like league, no, this...THIS, warframe, is what I say art looks like, this is an example of passion come to life. The funniest thing is, alot of what I dream of for this game, it's already becoming. Boy am I proud to be a nidus main and if anyone at DE reads this....thank you for my dope ass nidus deluxe, I finally have what I want, I'm happy to play this game and dedicate hours and hours of my time to it, you guys at DE have got a customer for life and I'm sure I'm not the only one. This was a stunning piece of work Skill Up. I appreciate every moment of these videos as does everyone else who watches them. You highlight things about this game and more importantly its development team which seem so redundant in the industry at the moment. In a time where it's so easy to generalise, WARFRAME, breaks the rules then re-writes them.

Unless he changed his style in the last couple months, him being an attention seeking person is why I unsubbed. Customers don't need to pay the full bill, which frankly is there ever one? Skillup - I may be drowned in the ocean of comments you get here.. but I have to say, this video gave me goosebumps ... how do you manage to evoke so much passion .. good lawdy. Your way with words is just .. beautiful - I would never be able to put into such beautiful words as you have wonderfully done here. I am a proud "loser", so every word you said had me nodding in agreement. What you say is so true - irrespective of the fact that Fortuna and Railjack may release in a buggy state, it doesn't matter - the vast majority of the warframe community has DE's back because we see, with our very own eyes, the passion, love, sweat and hardwork DE puts into this game, all to bring us the fun we know we can have from this game. And for that, I have not thought twice about dumping money into this game - coming in on close to about 2000 USD ( by way of prime-access packs, tennogen skins, plat purchases) .. and I have not rued my investment into this game. DE deserves EVERY single penny I've given to this game. Here's wishing to their continued success. Salud! And, you my friend - keep up the good work. Such videos are wonderful to come back to, any time.

BTW, Digital Extremes in 2014 had shown up at PAX Prime that year though they hadn't shown off the Grineer Shipyard tileset and the Hijack mission yet. I stumbled upon Rebecca and Steve at the Sony booth and after talking about some stuff they mentioned they were doing an after party on that Sunday. So they had invited the fans that found them at PAX and paid for dinners and drinks while people asked them questions on where the game was going, well before the Second Dream and all of the progression since. It was definitely an unforgettable night and something I put the team along the lines of Free Radical Design.

Attention anyone planning on playing Warframe! First I’d like to say, Welcome To All The New Tenno! Now, the game is really overwhelming at first, but with enough time and patience it will become almost reflexive! Secondly, Everything can be earned for FREE, even the cosmetics, but don’t worry about those yet, you shouldn’t have to worry too much about Platinum early on! Thirdly, you start with 50 Platinum, use it to buy Weapon and Warframe Slots! It really helps! Fourth, there are plenty of Veterans who will kindly help new players as well as the Wikia (beware of accidental spoilers), just don’t ask to be carried, as it hurts your experience, at least early on. Finally, don’t get discouraged if your desired loot doesn’t drop, it happens to all of us! Good luck and stay safe out there Tenno!

Yes this game will be really fun to you if you a. Enjoy endless grinds with subpar gameplay or b. Wanna dump a massive amount on money on worthless digital items. And no this game is not overwhelming in the beginning but its just a snorefest in the first 200 hours. This game is the definition of style over substance. Its all pretty colours and graphics. The gameplay and ai are laughable.

Burnt Toast I am assuming the main problem is completing missions with Melee only? While it’s definitely not easy this is a good time to ask for assistance from other players to do the mission for you, or to simply perform a mission that can be completed without getting kills, such as Spy or Sabotage.

Jakob Sylvester Well if you claim that you need to spend massive amounts of money your are incorrect, I have 1400 hours and can attest to this. Secondly, if you dislike grinding, a core design of the game, then don’t play any Shooter Looter, or Looter for that matter, as well as no MMOs and even some RPGs, as these games feature a lot of grinding, something you seem to detest. Perhaps RTS or MOBA is more your speed.

Because the current game isn't the same ow i bought at d1. New symmetra? No thanks. When a semi-brainless healer is more valuable then a skill based healer (mercy/ana) it's not a game i can enjoy, now all the toxic people just pretend to be positive only for the endorsement. And i was 50 point to diamond in season 9, the rank wasn't even a problem, i'm not motivated to improve with the current game design choises from blizzard.

I've been playing Warframe since open beta, and it still blows my mind how far this game as come, and how much has changed. I remember starting with no ship, mods that didn't stack, and a terrible UI with NO TUTORIAL. You know those moments when a piece of creative genius strikes a chord that resounds so profoundly within you that you can only think of one word to ascribe to how it influences your outlook on that genre: perfection? Thats what Warframe is to gaming for me. It's also what SkillUp is to video game journalism for me. These videos and their passionate honesty and integrity are more meaningful to me than anything spewed out of the politically regurgitatded bile that the mainstream games media calls " reporting". Skillup's reviews prompted me to open my wallet and schedule and give games the likes of Nier Automata and Warframe a chance. No other outlet has that influence with me anymore. That post on the window is so perfect in that it conveys not only whoever's feelings that put it their are, but my own as well. Thank you DE. And Thank you SkillUp. For having my best interests at heart and baking your products with the love and care, honesty and integrity, passion and drive, that makes me come back again and again for more. You guys are the real MVP's of this industry, even if the industry itself doesnt know it, the fans do. And we support you, even those of us that struggle to show it financially - trust me, we're here, and we love you. Keep up the fantastic work!

The main problem is that.. No one in the Warframe is skeptical, or worried. Because we're ALWAYS skeptical, and worried. The game is a buggy mess. And every single release adds more bugs, new bugs, progressions stopping bugs, game breaking bugs, glitches, problems. Balancing issues with resources, optimization issues.. I could go on. But. We all know that the devs will, afterwards, work tirelessly to correct these issues. And usually within a week or two, the game will be stable once more. The main issue here is that DE is.. almost entirely transparent in this aspect, so people just don't care. Hell, I don't care if its a buggy mess on release. I just love the game!

KariXolu A game with no glitches is a boreing game. i allways loved glitches. the random code anomilys that ended up giveing me a little grin when. i would fall under the map then suddenly fly out into the skybox. its fun. and i agree. just somtimes i feel glitches should be embraced rather than patched. just not all at least.

A few have been accepted. The giant Zenistar skins for one. Clem.(Kinda) But progression stoppers are always kind of annoying. I too enjoy a glitch or two, as long as it doesn't invalidate an hour long run of something.

It's almost like Skyrim in that the bugs are a part of it, remember the crashing issues with sanctuary onslaught, or how umbra would stay equiped during the quest (quietshy). It might be the only studio where things being rushed is a good thing. Also frames released are always entirely different within the month. And all of these issues are gone, it's almost like they release it as a beta and I love it.

When I read this title I thought you were actually joking because it was way too long and it required seeing the thumbnail as well. But holy awe! you are completely right and the way Warframe is shifting the paradigm we gamers suffered for years now makes me proud of DE, makes me happy for supporting them, makes me wish I knew warframe better when they were having challenges so I could fund them about 3 times. This community is amazing, even I play more solo, I enjoy the region chat a lot. I see a bright future for Warframe, a game that will outlast time, hopefully I will be still playing it as a old man, this game has infinite ambition. Also, subscribed, good on you for also taking into consideration Jim Sterling, John TotalBiscuit (RIP) Bain and noclip documentary. Putting some game journos to shame...

It baffles me companies think being mean pushing away people and shoving micro transactions in their face will get people to spend money and love them. Meanwhile. These are the kind of devs people would actively not buy something while it's on sale. JUST to give them that much more support.

I was online when a Nitain alert popped up. So decided to do it for my stockpile. Large map Interception mission where the Stalker spawned and killed a player. I decided to give him a tip: before spawning to mark the ground where he was so the group could come help. They told me I didn't know what I was talking about and the Stalker killed him instantly. Then they decided to try and argue which I let it slide. They were MR8 and I'm MR24. So it's already happening.

I get where you come from, but if you ask me, it isn't an good Solution to throw mindlessly Features into a Game, which doesn't fit it very well, even while you might Argue due it's Science-Fiction it should so. For me it matters from Game to Game, and while i can't wailt for it for Warframe - the reason why i was okay with Space Battles in Battlefront 2 Classic was due i could skip on that, because for me the mainpart and most Fun aspect of the Series were the Groundbattles while the Space-Battles was mostly a lackluster for me. "Neat" sometimes if i want a bit of variety, but really nothing which i would miss if they cut it... if i really wanted to play an proper Star Wars Space-Battle Game i would've played Rogue Squadron instead. And that's where Warframe and Games like this differ from Games like Battlefront. Battlefront is an Game which is developed around 3-5 Years and than should be finished. If you have that Timelimit i would argue the Game should stick to their strenghts... because if they experiment to much, and the crowd don't like it - the crowd will move on. Warframe however is an Online-Game with consistent experience... sure there are alot of People who b**** about new MMO which haven't enough content, but overall Online-Games like this have it easier to grow, even for if it's an popular F2P Game due simply can give it another try later on... So to sum it up, while it is kinda "special" it's nothing which i want have every game now... a Game should be lead by the Vision of the Devs and not a checklist with Features which might or not might fit in... and i prefer an more simple "experience" where you would argue about "missing" features, but well done, instead for them to be forced to deliever something only because other games do that...
