Glinka is so underrated, he was the first big Russian composer he deserves more love.

The piano feels so free in this piece, like a leaf blowing in the wind.

Lead doesn't really blow that easily in the wind.

The pianist is pretty gracious with his part, but the same can be said with the whole ensemble. Glinka was probably an influence for Chopin’s “Brillante” era as the composition date of this work meets the said era, just before -or while- Chopin composed and published his two famous Brillante works (op. 18 and op. 22)

It sounds very much like a Chopin air on someone's melody.

Remember that young Glinka could play Hummel's Concerto a-moll No. 2. So, he was a world class pianist.

Too fast cantabiles, for instance "a non credea mirarti" With this tempo lost the grace. Sounds like a Czerny exercice. Very well written the composition but interpretation is not magic.
