I've always loved how Fran incorporates her Jewishness into the family. The mention of yahrzeit candles for Sarah is really sweet, and shows that Fran wants to honor her in meaningful ways.

And, Gracie's saying "well see each other at weddings and, G-d forbid, funerals."i love how they had the youngest pick up more of her Jewishness; which makes perfect sense because Fran would have been there in her most formative years. Brighton (aka Schmooy) picked up some and connected with Yetta (splitting money from his Bar Mitzvah was hilarious). Maggie absorbed the least. Remember when Fran tried to guilt Maggie about living with her boyfriend? She informed Fran that "Jewish guilt didn't work on a shiksa".

I think it's funny how she said it was in the Torah 😂 I am Torah observant many don't know that the Messiah is the walking talking breathing torah that gives life to all men who put their trust in him . Everything in the torah leads to our faith in the Messiah . Like the Jewish feast God never did away with him even though we are told by men that he did but I encourage everyone if they are followers of the Messiah to read Zachariah 14 because when he returns after all nations rise against Israel he was establish his kingdom , and those who were obedient to him that were called out from the Nations will keep a Jewish feast with him . The Messiah welcomed all those to the wedding supper that put their trust in him and is obedient to his word to come and keep a Jewish feast with him the feast him . The of the Tabernacles it's a beautiful celebration to our creator . I'm not telling anybody what to believe but I know just a beautiful celebration to the Lord .

Ironically, they were afraid that they would forget Sarah, when in fact, before Fran was there - Gracie had forgotten her mother, because Maxwell was afraid if they talked about her, they would be sad. However, Fran showed them that talking about it and such was a great way to honor her memory and keep her alive in their hearts. Fran changed everyone in that house for the better in some way shape or form.

When Brighton mentioned Fran's Jewish ritual for the kids' late mother to wish her a better afterlife, I think it's very fitting she did that as just like how Fran never abandoned her religion when she fell in love with Maxwell, the kids never abandoned the love of their late mom, which I guess to both of them, it's something they hold near and dear to their hearts. Also, the fact she plays tapes of their late mom when they feel sad is such a sweet move on Fran's part, which makes her a great stepmother for these kiddos

Fran is a great person. She isn't selfish and is like... I want these kids they are mine. She respects thier late mother's memory and understands its important for them to remember her while still the kids' mother herself. So beautiful.

Max: The closest they could get was 31? Fran: Well, i guess the truth is out.. 😂😂😂😂😂 I love the fact that Fran never diminished the children’s memories of their mother. Made her look as if she was ‘taking care’ of them on behalf of their late mother rather than ‘replacing’ her..

This episode kind of made me mad - because if your grandkids love her and want to call her Mom - or want her to be their Mom - then that's all Sarah's parents should have needed and trusted Maxwell and their grandkids that they wouldn't forget Sarah.

Fran had NOTHING to worry about. No jury in the world would side with the grandparents. Besides, it's not a crime to forget one's mother even though the kids never forget about Sarah. The grandparents had no grounds to complain to the courts about the adoption.

If you are wondering what is Fran’s real age remember in they celebrated her 30 th birthday in season and I think it eas in episode 13 so in season she would’ve turned 31, season 3 32, season 4 33, season 5 34, so right now in season 6 she would be 35

What you learn from the second to last episode of the 5th season is that Sara was responsible for sending Fran to Maxwell. She comes to Maxwell before the wedding and confesses that she loved Fran and that she sent Fran to Maxwell because she worried Maxwell would be lonely without her.

This show always makes me laugh, frans family is like mine, its how i figured out we are jewish, my mom explained to me , my grandma, nana came to america at 16 alone to escape the hitler invasion of france. She dropped the religion and our past to survive, hide, and flourish. She also met my grandpa, and married him, he as agnostic. My nana told me of her journey here from the terrorizing going on to jews and minorities. My nana was a very strong force in my life and family, and reminds me of frans mom and grandma. My mom married a rich guy too, just like fran! I miss my mom, my nana and my sister....they all jumped the rainbow and are on the otherside, watching over me.....
