American Couple Reacts: Windsor Castle Tour: The Queen's Royal Palace! Our FIRST TIME SEEING IT!!
We are ashamed to admit we really had never seen Windsor Castle before now!
We were absolutely shocked at the size and how much is in and surrounds its walls. It's incredible!! We really learned A LOT!
We are trying to pay our tribute to Queen Elizabeth by learning more about her and where she spent her time over the years.
We offer again our most sincerest condolences on this the day before her funeral. We hope our words at the beginning are taken with the genuine sincerity in which they were meant. Thank you for watching and if you like our content, please click the Like button. Our love to all people of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth.
God Bless the Queen and God Save the King.

Natasha and Debbie, Your thoughts and comments on the Queen have restored my faith in humanity. At the moment we here in UK are hearing and reading vile comments about our Queen and country coming from the foreign press especially the New York Times. I feel as if we are all here in the UK are under attack. We want to bury our Queen and to be left in peace to do it. So I thank you for all you have said and done, two decent people showing respect and sympathy to a nation in mourning for a woman who hurt no one. Thank You

I couldn’t have said it better Janice. I haven’t heard any awful comments anywhere as yet from American citizens, they have been so respectful and super supportive. It’s the media that seems to have an awful agenda. We were so fortunate to have lived through the reign of QE11, and long live the king. Much love to all.

Well said Janice, the vile press coming from the US has really angered me this week as we grieve our Queen, there total lack of knowledge of history is astonishing especially that vile professor woman who wished the Queen a slow painful death, absolutely disgusting, but I know this is only a very small minority, the US has always been our greatest friend and Allie and I know the vast majority of Americans loved our Queen 🇬🇧🇺🇲

And by the reaction of the people, how easy is it for you to forgive and forget everything that they have done. This includes the Queen who gave shelter to one of her sons who paid a fortune for a pedophile case to go away, even though he protest his innocence. People now getting charged for saying things while a mob in Scotland not arrested for vandalism. No one should be above the law, and that includes the Windsors with their fake name.

Buckingham Palace is more of a large office block if anything compared to Windsor Castle. For years she left Buckingham Palace on Thursday afternoons, heading for Windsor. I had a friend who was in the Police there. One Thursday afternoon, the corgis went in the car ahead of her and one of them did a massive and very smelly poo on the carpet. No one noticed until the Queen stepped in. Apparently, she went absolutely mad about it - at the dog she suspected of the major indiscretion. The dogs were shooed out swiftly and she went back in side whilst footmen scurried around to clean and sanitise and no doubt air freshen the vehicle. lol. I did wonder why another car wasn't brought around. She said.. Please let me know when the car is ready. lol. Nice to have someone do that work for you. lol..

You mentioned HM having "class". I think your respectful response to her death indicates you both share that quality too. Two things have stood out to me this week, as I have observed it from E Africa. Firstly, the amazing, joyful welcome with which King Charles has been greeted, from Edinburgh to Cardiff, from London to Belfast. This has leavened the depths of sorrow with the yeast of hope that her son and grandson will build upon the Queen's legacy of grace and service. Secondly, seeing 14-year old James, Viscount Severn, yesterday joining his much older cousins in the vigil of the grandchildren at Westminster, poignantly reminded me of William & Harry following their mother's coffin 25 years ago.

I think HMTQ loved both Windsor and Balmoral. During WW2 The Queen and her sister Princess Margaret were evacuated as children to Windsor as Buckingham Palace was bombed. There are many cottages on the estate, Prince William and Catherine (Now the Prince and Princess of Wales) have only just moved there into Adelaide cottage a few weeks ago. Prince William was married at Westminster Abbey and Harry at St George's chapel Windsor. Thank you Natashia and Debbie for your respect, sincerity and dignity shown at this time, when sadly we are hearing of some who seem to be disparaging our late Queen and the country.

This is my favourite castle, I love Windsor. My father was born in the living quarters of Windsor Castle, as my grandfather Major A Bell served in the Irish guards household staff for the Queen Mother and continued after her death for the late queen, although it was only for a short period for the queen as he then went to Whitehall to workout his retirement. After my grandfather retired he bought a property in line with Windsor Castle as he just love his privilege of serving for the royal family and loved the castle so much. My grandfather was awarded is position off the late queen. So much too see of the castle, brings back memories of visiting my grandfather.

Just discovered your channel, must say I love it! You two seem like my kind of people :D I am originally from Iceland but currently live in England and I share your enthusiasm for learning about this country. The mood here now is quite strange, to be honest, where people go about their day as usual but still it seems like a blanket of sorrow is hovering above. You can see pictures of her everywhere in shop windows, where companies are paying their respects to her, and flags are lowered to half-mast in many private gardens. You can feel the queen's presence everywhere, it's like she's embracing a now orphaned nation that needs her to console them in their grief. It's a strange thing to see, but also heartwarming.

Thank you for your kind and beautifully spoken words. I have been watching the live stream of the Queen lying in state at Westminster Hall. It is impossible not to be touched watching peoples true affection, their love as they have that moment, a fleeting moment after hours of waiting, just to say goodbye and thank you. I am so incredibly homesick for the UK right now. I wish so much I could have waited in line to see the Queen, to meet King Charles, to be part of the moment. Instead of being there, I am soaking up as much coverage as I can of the event, and thinking deeply about the impact the Queen had/has upon my life, and the lives of many people in the UK and around the world. Rest In Peace Ma’am. God save the King.

There was some confusion about Frogmore. The first photo they showed near the beginning was Frogmore House not Frogmore Cottage. The cottage is in the grounds of the main house. The interiors of some of the state apartments, including St Georges Hall are all new as there was a massive fire in 1992 while it was undergoing refurbishment. Fortunately they managed to save a lot of the art works and furniture as it was all in storage due to the refurb. However that oak ceiling you admired is all new as the ceiling collapsed in the fire. The rebuild is pretty amazing craftsmanship and is an exact replica of the original.

When i think of the Royal Family, i think of their devotion to people of the United Kingdom and also of something the Queen's Mother said during the war. She was advised to take the princesses to safety in Canada. She replied, The children will not go without me, I will not go without the King and the King will NEVER leave. As an ex-Serviceman, she was my boss, and I swore my oath to the Queen - and really did mean every word of it. My wife, Hong Kong Chinese has always considered the Queen to be her British mum and is quite devastated. Windsor Castle is a great visit - and I particularly love the royal apartments. The main Windsor estate is about 850 acres and lies on the south bank of the River Thames west of London (and just south of the large town of Slough). Heathrow Airport is only 5 miles east of the castle. The oldest parts of the current castle buildings are almost 800 years old - and it has been a Royal residence for that whole period.

Natasha and Debbie, when you come to the UK for a vacation do let us know - I would love to take you to lunch at a few of the old institutions I am a member of because I know you will appreciate it. Balmoral and Sandringham are the personal property of the Queen-King. The official Scottish residence of the monarch is Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh. The St George's Chapel is the chapel of Windsor Castle and inside it. The roundey things are Turrets and or baileys. The squarey things are Battlements and Crenellations. The Castle encloses 13 acres - the Windsor Great Park is its old hunting ground. The royal residences are more extensive than you may realise. Buckingham Palace is only the most recent of a complex of palaces in the central part of London. St James's Park, Green Park, Hyde Park and Kensington Palace Gardens, google map this, are one large Royal Park . The official entrance to the complex is Horse Guards on Whitehall (a palace which has gone and replaced by government buildings, including the enclave of Downing Street). Within the parks complex and its edges are the royal chapel of Westminster Abbey and the Palace of Westminster which is the Houses of Parliament. The Westminster Hall, next to the parliament, of William II ,1086, is the oldest original palace building which is why the Queen lies in State there. The ancient St James's Palace, technically the official Royal Court, is to the North West. It has two other smaller palaces next to it - Clarence House, the Queen Mother then Prince Charles lived there, and Lancaster House which is now the HQ of the Commonwealth. Then there is Kensington Palace to the far part of the complex which is where various members of the family live in London eg Wlliiam and Kate. Then back to Buckingham Palace. If that is not enough, there was a Greenwich Palace, Christopher Wren designed it for William and Mary, about five miles down river, but it was transferred to the Royal Navy as its military college and a dozen years ago was transferred to the new Greenwich University. Well worth a visit.

I do hope that you get to visit the UK soon and see all the lovely sights for yourselves! As for the funeral tomorrow in my opinion you two should watch it privately so you can be totally immersed and not under pressure to comment or stay composed, both of which may be difficult. I live in London and saw the Queens coffin arriving back to Buckingham Palace from Scotland on Tuesday evening which was very emotional but will stay home and watch her funeral on the TV in the morning with tea and shortbread biscuits!!!!

If you can go anywhere for 2 months you need at least £8,000 for 2 people. This is England with all the places to visit and to even pay for a cheap caravan will cost you a fortune. You need at least £10,000 for 2 people,it'll cost nearly £2,000 for flights and food.

Hello ladies. Windsor Castle is magnificent. We were watching the wedding of William & Kate when it was live I N.Z & a news reporter asked a tour group of Americans how they felt about the history significance of Windsor Castle. The whole group raved about it and was saying how magnificent it was, when one person from the group said & I quote " It is a lovely Castle but.... why did they build it so close to the airport?" Eeek my Kiwi born but British proud daughters couldn't believe the question. We still talk about that remark even after all these years. Jane in New Zealand 🇳🇿

Lovely video again ladies. Thanks for all the love and respect you are showing Windsor is a beautiful place to visit. Been a few times but it’s always reminds me of my grandmother as she was a ardent royalist and was the first person to take me there. Xx

Hello lovely ladies, watching you watching and absorbing (like a sponge ;) ) our history and facts about Our Glorious Majesty Queen Elizabeth is heart warming, thank you, from a 60yr old Silver-haired lady. The 4 weddings 'off the top of my head' that I remember happening at St George's Chapel are Prince Edward and Sophie 1999, Peter Phillips & Autumn 2008, H&M 2018, Princess Eugenie & Jack 2018. Prince William and Catherine, now The Prince & Princess of Wales, were married in Westminster Abbey, where the Queen's Funeral will be held tomorrow. Sending love, light and my heartiest best wishes, to you both, from Wales.

The Castle itself sits on 13 acres. Windsor Great Park is 5000 acres, Windsor Home Park is 655 acres. You get a better idea if you google maps it.

If queuing was an Olympic competition we would win the gold. Windsor Castle was renovated by George IV, after it fell into disrepair. As having a military interest you will be in for a treat tomorrow. Our boys (military) will put on the best display. The Royal Navy will pull the Gun Carriage carrying the coffin. This has been done since Queen Victoria's time as during her funeral procession, the horses bolted.

Years ago I was a comms engineer for the police. One of the radio base stations I maintained was in, or above, the large round tower. On the top of the round tower is another, smaller, tower on which the flag pole is mounted. From the ground the flag pole looks quite small, however, my radio equipment was directly below the pole and it is massive. At its base it is supported by four huge oak beams. The round tower itself consists of several floors, accessed with a lift, (or elevator). Within those floors are held the royal archives, thousands of them going back many centuries possibly 1000 years. Those archives would be a historian's dream and I'm sure contains a lot of very revealing information, not for public consumption! I never tired of visiting the castle for work and was always filled with the sense of our very long history and traditions. Which is one reason I am a very proud Englishman!

Hi Natasha and Debbie, it was so special to come across your channel and the respect and love you have shown not only to H.M. the Queen but to all of Her subjects. I live in Christchurch, New Zealand - I have been to Windsor but I do regret not going to visit the castle. You asked where the Prince of Wales (William) married Kate, they were married in Westminster Abbey, 29 April, 2011.

Hiya ladies ... I live around 10 minutes drive from Windsor and drive by the cast often. It is enormous as you mentioned. It was great seeing your reactions to somewhere so close to where I have lived all my life. I have never taken it for granted. I have seen the late Queen and many other royals come and go from the castle. The changing of the guards happens most days at 11am where you can witness new guards leaving the barracks just around the corner and March up to the castle to take over from the previous guard duty. For locals it can be a little irritating as the traffic is stopped while the guards change and I have sat waiting in a queue of cars until the change has completed. It is lovely living so close to the castle and Ascot racecourse about 5 minutes from where I live, where her majesty would attend every year with her horses. The clip you showed in the video where the Queen was laughing, it was the year that one of the Queens horses won a cup race...she was jumping with excitement. If you ever make it over here, I would be happy to show you around. Thanks for the respect and kindness shown to our country as we mourn our Queens passing. X

Thank you for your most touching tribute. When people are willing to stand in line for nearly 20 hours to view her coffin it shows the respect and affection in which so many held her. It should be pointed out that the Castle, Buckingham Palace and the other palaces are state owned with apartments for the Royals. The two personally owned properties are Balmoral in Scotland and Sandringham in Norfolk which were left by Victoria to her son Edward who then willed them to George V. He left them to his eldest son Edward V111 who went into exile. As they were his property George V1, Elizabeth's father had to buy the two estates from him. Presumably in the Queen's will Charles will inherit but not necessarily! I am not sure about who owns the contents of the palaces but when images of paintings are used in books it often says 'by permission of HM The Queen'.

A lot of the art furniture etc are owned by the Monarch and are part of the Royal Collections trust so they can't be sold. Many Monarchs purchased art and Her majesty owned one of the largest collections of Michaelangelo's 'cartoons' as they are called. They are loaned out to museums galleries etc. What I found fascinating is that at BP they have a suit of samurai armour that is very old, Apparently the Japanese don't have anything like it and because of the conditions in which it's kept (our climate) it's incredibly well preserved. It's partly why we as a nation have such an amazng collection of art

The late Queen would ride in Windsor Great Park and as it's open to the public at all times she would come across people enjoying the park either jogging, cycling or just enjoying the air. She would stop and chat to them. A lot of the time not being recognised.

When you get people flying in from Australia (who aren't even ex-pats), just to join a 5-mile queue in order to pay their respects to the late queen Elizabeth II, you know how well loved this monarch is. Here's a Wikipedia page that lists the attending dignitaries: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_dignitaries_at_the_state_funeral_of_Elizabeth_II

@@aidencox790 The important thing here is that Elizabeth II worked in the role of an apolitical ambassador. This lack of political affiliation meant that anyone could associate themselves with the queen.

Within the walls of Windsor Castle is St georges Chapel, which will be queen Elizabeth's final resting place, next to her husband Prince Philip. I've been to Windsor Castle and it truly is magnificent. Another place you should look at is Hampton Court Palace, home to a number of monarch's including Henry the eighth.

Windsor Castle a beautiful place with quite a few famous neighbours, including Elton John. The whole town has an aire about it and well worth a visit by train not car possibly the most accessible place owned by the late Queen. Also look at Sandringham another house owned by the Queen where her late father died. Buckingham Palace is of course not owned by the Monach and is the office and home that comes with the job. The Queen does own lot of art, De-vinci anatomy of the body and drawings of the helicopter also a large collection of Easter eggs by the Russian Royal jewelers. Please watch the funeral it will be a long day including the journey to Windsor. It will have the maximum pomp and circumstance for a great Queen who deserves the best. I would then pick out what you found interesting to make your blog,. Perhaps a note book just to make a few notes. We will never see anything like this again so history will be made. God bless her.

Thank you both. Video is a little dated, the Queen made Windsor her full time home when Covid struck, Buckingham Palace has pretty much become the "office" where official meetings and functions are held. Tonight there will be a reception at the Palace for all the Heads of State, but the royals will all head to other homes when it is finished.
