Chris, you and your college work are critical and extremely important. I hope you all know how much your work is appreciated. Thank you. A beautiful video that brings hope and joy. I enjoyed it greatly. Keep protecting the pinch in the hourglass.

Reminds me of my childhood in North Dakota, very similar sights to those on this video. The cranes make one helluva racket in the skies during their migrations. Thanks Nature Conservancy for all you do.

In Florida they make themselves at home almost anywhere. It's so delightful to watch them dance and jump around comically. I never see great numbers but there will be several here and there and when they have their young with them it's an extra treat.

This is so wonderful to watch....I absolutely love Sandhills...They've been passing over Alberta during the last few days. You hear them before you see them; so wonderful to see this annual migration..

I live in central Illinois. Today September 19th 2022, I saw a crane on my pond. Such an unusual sight. My dog alerted me that something was on the pond that she didn't understand. It was beautiful. There was a strong storm system last night. It might have been blown off course.

Unfortunately, they are hunted here in Texas. Every November I go on a solo trip due west on the Prairie Dog Town Fork of the Red River just to see these beautiful birds as they settle in to feed and drink before commencing further on their travels. I can typically make it about 7 or 8 miles upriver to set up camp for a few days. Pure solitude; very seldom do I see another person during the 3-5 days there. No gunshots, no ATVs, no drunken campfire socials. Just me and God, the nighttime coyote song, the morning mule and evening whitetail deer, and the cranes. There’s nothing else like it. Pure Southern Great Plains slowly transitioning into the notorious Llano Estacado. It’s a special thing, hearing these magnificent birds as they fly overhead or land near you.. if you’re lucky enough. Sedge after sedge for about two weeks straight in mid-November.
