I love your new wood stove. I think the more you use it the darker the top will all be. I absolutely love your cups. God bless y’all.

Thank you so much! That's what I think, too, with the top. In all have learning to do in the use of it.

Hello from Wisc. We've had our Ashland New Decade for eight years. It took a whole winter to figure the quirks out. Yes, the top will turn all sorts of colors with use and age. If the top get's all grimy I use oven cleaner on it when the stove is cold. Re: the bake option...you don't use it unless you are baking. When you do bake you'll notice the temp of the top cooling down due to the fire going underneath the oven. Something I've don't for years with our old and new cookstove, was to put a coat of car wax on the porcelain. Turtle spray wax works great! Ps: You have to have a tea kettle on the cooktop even if you don't need it...that's the law. And put a marble in the teakettle so if it runs dry the marble will start bouncing around to tell you to add water. Good luck!

How awesome Janette and Dugan with your wood cook stove! I can't wait to learn from you how to use it; as one day I would love to have one. Love your mugs from Norway Grandpa and Grandma, Farmor and morfar

I think I'm going to like it. I am learning how to make it work properly. The reservoir will be great if we don't have an alternative for heating water. Thanks, Brenda.

Is that your only room you have with those beautiful pine walls? You could call it The Pine Room if it is.

that's a possible idea for the name! The house has the siding outside, but sheet rock inside. Thanks for visiting!

With a flat stainless steel cooktop, can you cook directly on it like a griddle? I didn't see anything like a grease channel or anything. I think the water tank can provide hot water but also humidity in the room. It appeared to have a hole in the lid to allow the moisture to escape. Looking forward to more videos of cooking with it. Now I want a cup of hot chocolate.

I think the top could be used as a griddle, but there's not place for the grease to collect. Yes, the reservoir could add humidity to the air, and we struggle with dry air in the winter. In excited to learn how too cook on the stove. Thanks for visiting.

I have the newer ashland deluxe(no control valve on lower ash door). I live 30 min from where they are made, as a matter of fact I picked mine up directly from the amish... I have the water jackets but not installed and there are 2 heavy metal pieces with what look like vents on them and I have NO IDEA where they go... was hoping to find someone with them to explain where they go. I have not fired mine yet but will in the next day or so... my Xmas present to me! Lol The top plate will turn every shade of color and eventually turn black from heat.. I was told to keep them lightly oiled when not in use due to rust. Please post more videos of you baking and cooking. Thank you

Thank you so much for explaining how it works. I've always wanted one. I have a small one in my basement for emergencies. We lose power pretty often lol
