For those unfortunate enough to be using Origin instead of Steam for this game, the portraits file may not show up under Documents/This War of Mine as the game suggests, at least that was the case for me. Instead, follow the path: This PC > Local Disk > Program Files (x86) > Origin Games > This War of Mine > Portraits.

A shame that there's only seven occupations because the 25 unique portraits and physiques you get are really cool. Since there aren't any black or Asian characters in the main game (that I know of), you could just make your own, so that's neat.

Is there a way to get one of the models like from people who visits you, theres one I really want as a survivor as he has a beanie and a nice backpack, is there anyway to get that model for a custom survivor?

That hasn't been cracked yet unfortunately. The custom character models are bland as well. I would at least like to use some of the NPC or default character models. More importantly their skills as an option. I guess that's possible, but difficult with a self-mod. It's a matter of renaming them and giving them a different portrait, but it's not near as easy as custom character creation.

I believe it's dependent on the mod. Often shown in the description, or not :/ Some of the mods have no information. If you want to cheat and still get achievements use a cheat trainer. But you could get banned in other online games. This game VAC bans aren't an issue I'm guessing as there is no online play.
