It is good that John has planted so many flowers because it takes 80 million flower visits to make 20 kgs of honey. 5g of honey is a teaspoon in Oz and that is the total lifespan production of approx 12 bees - I say thank you every morning when I have my Chai tea. They truly are the busiest little creatures. 🐝

Manuka Honey from New Zealand has been a lifesaver for me ...helping me (w/numerous other remedies) to cope with Lyme Disease. It is the plant that they pollinate which makes it so miraculous ...the Manuka trees only bloom just 2-6 weeks every year! Thank you dear Manuka Honey Bees!!! 🐝🐝🐝

Avoid flowers or plants that have been treated with 'neonicotinoids' ...which are very bad for the bees ...a class of insecticide. Although deemed safer for children and animals than other older forms of insecticide ...they are absorbed into the whole plant including the pollen and can be harmful to bees even in small quantities.

gardening tip: To keep Wisteria blooming for longer make sure to remove the seed pods like you do with sweet peas. Yay for bees! It's so fun to watch all the bees marching into a new home where the Queen has been placed.

Diogo, great to see someone who is raising bees! My dad raised bees for many years. We loved it. We learned to grow queens, we sold and shipped queens, weighed bees and shipped them, shipped honey overseas, and did all the extracting, mending and caring for the bee boxes, fields and the warehouse and equipment. Miss it!!

We had an exciting time a few weeks ago, a swarm of bees decided to take a rest on my red corderline plant on route to a new home. I took a couple of pictures and rang a bee keeper. He told me that some of them would be scouting for a new home and that and the rest would stay for 24 hours. True to his word they up and left after 24 hours ! I managed to film them in flight, it was so exciting.

I agree with the lady about the white grout it would be looking grungy really fast. On a happier note I love your bucket hat I wished I had one. I'm a great Hat Wear because I have cancer on my face. You are so blessed to have Gerald working along with you. What a wonderful gift he is. I am so excited about your bees also. I always love these as a kid growing up. I like the diversity of the video. I am a huge supporter of saving the bees. Also, when I plant my carrots I plant a radish with them between the onions. The radish shade out weeds and protects your carrots. When your radishes are ready to pick your carrots will be 3 inches tall.

Hello Newby's... I agree with Cathy Lewis, you will regret white grout. Too easy to get grimy. When we put tile down we used grout just slightly lighter than the tile. You have either bunny rabbits, or some other rodent. Or perhaps it's the puppy. Can't wait to see the delivery of bees. Your honey will taste like the flowers or fruit trees they collect from.

Terrific bathroom guys! Just a suggestion after having lived in Ecuador for many years - if you haven’t thought about it yet, if you use the rectangular cut-offs as a baseboard/skirting board, it would finish off the floor quite nicely.

Im actually allergic to bees, my garden however contains lots of bee friendly flowers planted by myself for several reasons, they’re crucial to the environment, our local chemist sells locally sourced honey, which helps with certain allergies, I find the buzzing relaxing and finally as I tell my daughter numerous times over the summer months, if the bees are on my flowers, they aren’t on me and it shows the months of work growing seeds, planting has paid off 😊

Like you Michelle I am allergic to bee and wasp stings but we also have a bee friendly garden. Most times the bees don't worry me as they don't sting unless aggravated. We need bees so anything we can do to help them is important.

I'm probably too late with this comment but can I please urge you against white grout. I have it throughout my house and now in my kitchen and in areas where pets frequented, it's stained dark. Everywhere you walk the grout is different shades of white to gray. I've been told by masons that all I can do is paint it because I've tried bleaching it and scrubbing it with a a big scrubbing machine and some of it is simply stained and it just absorbs into the porousness. Even if you seal the grout, the sealer material wears out quickly, very quickly. So you'd have to be sealing it constantly in. That's just not reasonable. Good luck. You know I love you and your videos. I look forward to them every week! ❤❤❤

The trick is to seal the grout with stone sealer. It stays white.

Tara there's a thing known from Old Time Farmers to keep your seeds in your mouth as you're planting them because your DNA will get on to the seed so then when your food is growing it will be healthier for you because it will already have some of your DNA in it and it will be healthier for the boys because your DNA is in them too you should try it sometime just to see the difference I noticed that when I put the seeds in my mouth for a few minutes that the saliva that soaks up into him I don't know why it seems like they grow better

Garden is coming along nicely. I love the bathroom floor tile. Looks fabulous. The bee hive will truly be fascinating and I know you will become an “expert” in no time at all. The hat looks great!

I have the same colour of tile on my kitchen and conservatory. I have a dark greyish colour of grout and it brings out the shape and colour. It really does look good. You can also get a matching colour too if you prefer it ❤❤❤
