Fly Fishermen and the New Fly Fisher please check the vegetation on the shoreline where the guide took the New Fly Fisher to catch the big Brook Trout. The aspen trees and birch trees on the shoreline provide the nutrients needed in the food chain of the aquatic inhabitants in Lake Nipigon. Ref: "Trout are Made of Trees" by April Pulley Sayre.

Everyone including the New Fly Fisher should read the scientific study: Lake Nipigon: Area of Concern in 1987. The study will give you the knowledge on why and how Lake Nipigon's water quality and environmental health was restored over the last 30 years. Yes, it was not Brook Trout regulations and not Catch and Release that restored the food chain for the aquatic inhabitants of Lake Nipigon.
