Actually this is the beginning of China reaping its technology and scientific investment. Due to west containment policy, China is stepping back to develop more fundamental technology currently. At the same time, explosive growth of its innovation is just starting.
@0Zebadee0
@0Zebadee0 4 күн бұрын
The downward spiral of China's economy and domestic technology, which is 20 years behind other countries, make that very unlikely. Eg., China's high-speed trains are already suffering from technical issues because they are not supplied with 70% of replacement components. And companies like Huawei are a good example of your description of “explosive innovation” because China's domestically produced microchips are 12 years out-of-date and result in performance issues. Without intellectual property and theft and stealing technology from foreign countries, China is no longer a global presence, especially with the global market preference for "zero-China."

No it isn't. Dont repeat that lie. Nobody has ever been hearing that for 30 years. 30 years ago everyone fully agreed that with the massive influx of US dolllars for manufacturing China was going to rise form the poverty-hole it was to become something like 100th out of 200 nations in 'per person wealth' and even surpass Japan for total GDP. For 30 years 'The Rise of China' has been THE biggest news story on earth. 30 years ago, some economists correctly predicted that China's 'boom time' rise would peak around 2015 and start it's inevitable decline around 2025. They were correct. but you and 27 upvoters don't get to 'rewrite history' and lie about this. You won't be allowed to 'make it become true' beause you lie about it enough.

@2mek99 , I thought you would back up your argument with stats. Well, let me get you stats: China debt to GDp at 77% is about 17 trillion RNB. That is about 2.5 trillion in US dollars. That is 77% of their GDp. The US debt to Gdp is at 122%. Last I checked, the US debts was over 30 trillion dollars. @@PMZInternational-le6rk You do not have knowledge of this topic. You compare central government debt. In the case of China, you need to add local government debt. Ccp micro manages every part of Chinese life. As for their population myth, china has never had a population of 1.4 billion. 40 years of a one child policy makes it purely impossible!! Right now china is making stuff for markets that don't want what china has made. Worse still the ccp will not create a consumer economy simply because in a consumer market, it the consumer that has the power. It's for this reason the ccp has deliberately curtailed companies such as ANT Group, Tenscent and others simply because no organisation can be as big and as powerful as the ccp. The ccp is a lot like Sauron from Lord of the Rings in that they don't share power. The big issue that none of tge panel addresses is the undisclosed promise of tge ccp after the Tiananmen square massacre which was, you the people can go make money as long as you don't look at how we the ccp runs control of society. What happens when no one makes money or worse, loses money?? Which is what's hapright now. Ps, I've been to china 3 times and there are heaps of beggars everywhere!!

This means that at least reative to the US, China's GDP per capita will stagnate at ~15% of the US number nominally, and ~25-30% on a PPP basis. Already, China's consumption and retail growth is slower than in the US, in which China used to be 2x to 3x faster as late as 2015. South Korea for example kept their growth rate of 10% and above for more than double the amount that China did, from the 1960s to 1990s, and kept high growth (7-8%) for another 20 years after that.

This was a fascinating conversation. Particularly interesting was the statement about China's domestic consumption of EVs at around 90% of those produced, which makes exporting less fundamental to their success. Their massive state investment in green tech. solar panels and batteries are crucial for the fight against pollution and global warming, and of course the price reductions in Kilowatt -hours now make Solar very attractive indeed. The point that China wants to be part of a multi-polar new order i.e. BRICS, is clearly a direct challenge to Western hegemony. We live in interesting times.

No, China is not unravelling. China is making an important transition. China has just reached -- or returned to what it had 200 years ago -- its position on the world's average of wealth per capita. This means it is making the transition from being a net net importer to being a net net exporter of cheap jobs -- and hence of edging slowly into becoming an advanced economy overall, not just at the commanding heights.

China own manufacturing innovation and commodities supply chains from Africa to Asia which they secured by providing major infrastructure projects that transformed those countries. While America and Europe think China will fall due to selling fewer temu, shein and tech products to their citizens, china is building billion dollar ports, railways, dams and securing raw material supply chains all over the world while creating billions of customers for their products in Asia, Africa and South America.

The West should buy a cheap air ticket, back pack for 1 month, then experience the actual happiness and economy in Chiina. I was there in 2024 for 3 weeks and using the local public transport . There is so much food and every day bustling business in every day life. Did not see food banks, homelessness graffitti, crime.. Felt very secure and safe at 11pm in city - so busy and vibrant. Research into the web on China's internal infrastructure projects tells me of a long term growth projection. China over 10 years have been building , concreting on average 700km rural roads in provinces and villages. Over 10 mega dam s generating electricty along Yangtze alone. Diversion of water from South West to North East. Solar, Wind, massive energy storage etc... Expanding industries .. Rapid policy changes to counter unsuitable , less than successful events happening.. Sand storm, not enough land to grow - policy to claim back desert the size of Wales every year. Introduce Solar Panels, animals to graze reclaimed desert. Vertical farming.... Then the expansion of Belt and Road with ports and railway infrastures to create domestic economies of 3rd world. Unemployment, real estate issues.. Read up the resolution policies yourself . Building of Thorium reactors (dozens of them).. Reducing oil, gas imports... Expansion of BRICS.. Call it Economy unravelling?

At least, not fast enough to grow to equivalent the Size & Value of the US Market, to be able to Sustain the Mainland Economic Growth. They should build Domestic Market very large enough & very fast enough to absorb their Industrial Output, plus over Production, as mentioned sometime ago alike Dual Cycle Economy, to include Domestic Economy, but the fact is the Domestic People would love more to Save their Money first (that's why their household Saving rate among Highest in the World) rather than Purchase their own Industrial Output, or at least Buying a lot Properties first (which go downward in Value now) before spending & absorbing Industrial over Production. +++

The prosperity of human society is related to the six industrial revolutions. The reason of population aging is a minor reason. Japan's economy stagnated because it missed the industrial revolution of "information technology and the Internet". At the same time, it also missed the technological revolution of "new energy vehicles" (it clicked the wrong technology tree, and Japan developed hydrogen energy at a slow pace). China and the United States are currently on the track of the industrial revolution of "artificial intelligence and robotics industry", and China is more likely to continue to lead, so it will continue to prosper. 1. Steam engine and industrial mechanization; 2. Electricity and electrification; 3. Internal combustion engine and transportation revolution 4. Information technology and the Internet 5. Biotechnology and genetic engineering 6. Artificial intelligence and machine learning
