How the VHP and BJP exploited a teen’s death in Tamil Nadu

Lavanya’s death on January 19, 2022 ignited a communal campaign, with the right-wing ecosystem amplifying claims of ‘rampant coerced conversions’. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) led protests accusing the DMK government of permitting ‘forced conversions’ in Tamil Nadu’s schools, which dominated national headlines for weeks. Two years later, a CBI investigation concluded that the student’s death was caused by harassment from her hostel warden, not pressure to convert. The probe also revealed that a local VHP leader exploited the child on her deathbed to further a Hindutva narrative. The CBI says in its chargesheet, that TNM has accessed, that Lavanya’s parents were under the influence of a VHP leader and some BJP leaders of Thanjavur.

I am Christian and from my forefathers till my son we help people in needs. Many times we pay their fees or help with medications or foods. When lock down started my husband gave many with a bag of rice , dal and oil. Who ever came we gave rice. Only one thing irritate me telling lies and cutting legs. The Christian community religion are very strict if people of this country want to believe in catholic Church to follow the steps of Jesus Christ the saviour are welcome by free will choice and have to give information details in writing on a affidavit with photo copy attached to the state church were they can join for conversion and inform the state police in writing and submit the copy as enclosed to protect from not doing wrong as per India law's and stop blaming in the name of religion sentiment.

They might be paying church tax. Unlike a religious tax levied on other religion, it is a tax by the Christian regime, on people of the same faith.

@@dom4068 I do not understand from your point view where taxes issues question are coming in religion matter .Please note first and foremost this subject matter is about conversion by any religion must follow the rules of regulation if anyone wants to change his religion and has to give in writing to the police officer jurisdiction state of India and to which religion likes to get converted by making an affidavit before me and fix photo copy with enclosure of I D. Proof such as Aadhar card and necessary PAN card also submit the same to religion authority and police station officer letter by taking an acknowledgement on the xerox copy so one cannot deny the oath of promise.
