Darren is the sort of person who will bring back respectability into politics. He has shown himself to be a true servant of the people, asking telling questions that need to be asked in the committees he has been involved in and a thoroughly likeable person, one that you feel will always have your back - the antithesis of what we have been used to under this Tory government.

The concerns he’s raising are legitimate unfortunately. Italy, and Hungary are already far right. France is lurching that way too. Germany is on that path. Fortunately Poland recently pulled back from the right. It’s unclear whether the EU we left will be the same organisation in five years. France has driven policy for decades in the EU, so them being unenthusiastic or even mildly willing to sabotage it is a real risk to the project. I also think there’s a good reason to wait another five years, as more Brexiteers will die off, and the influence of the right wing press is also dying off.

@@col.hertford9855 yes, it is an ever changing EU leaning towards the right but they should be very concerned for this direction, they need to look at what happened to us with Brexit Farage far right fanatic influencing a right leaning conservative government and the consequences can be disastrous for every day citizens it is alarming but I do have faith in the EU For waiting another five years, I agree and disagree. Yes we need less mentality of the Brexit teas a lot of them have seen the truth but there are still a fair amount of them. I do believe though for labours long Jeopardy in government they do need to bring economic growth and I just don't see this being possible without being in the single marketing and customs union my fear is they will allow the far right Farage to keep on growing and potentially topple the government
