Sheridan is rushing this. He spent roughly the equivalent of 1.5 episodes on filler so far. He's not finishing the saga as much as he's resolving plot lines (Summer was written out at break neck speed). People can blame Costner for leaving but Sheridan is ultimately responsible for the final product and he just wants to get it over with. It might be Paramount wouldn't give him anymore episodes than 6 to finish it but come on considering how much filler there is. The walls are closing in on Jaime and is running out of options. I'm wondering if Lynelle has a plan to save the ranch by having the Department of interior annex the ranch to the park as a landmark or annex it to Broken Rock.

@@janie5151 "This is so rushed! It's ridiculous!!" - Reminds me of the HBO Series "Rome", which was unceremoniously and unexpectedly told it was being canceled after Season 3, in the middle of Season 3!!, not because it didn't have a big audience that was growing exponentially, IT DID, the show was a huge success, but they cited the production cost as no-longer feasible. So the Director had to rush and cram what was supposed to be Season 4 into the end of Season 3. The effect was the same as we're seeing with Yellowstone, with the entire plot, most of which should have been Season 6, all being rushed into the last few episodes of Season 5. Rome fans were furious and HBO lost a ton of subscribers. Lastly, I would be remiss if I didn't say Costner F'd it up. He hung the fans out to dry. I hope his new show tanks.

Had they had a ‘death by horse’, previously on the series, besides Beth’s Mom? I don’t actually have access yet to see whole series. Just when Colby & Teeter know they love each other, Sheridan has him killed off. And him calling Jimmy dumb is just so very wrong. This 'thrilling' part 2 of season 5 is not good at all. I don't know if the studios aren't giving Taylor enough time or what the deal is, but, there's a rhytm to the show and it's been odd since it came back on. And no, not bc John is missing... by the way, everbody completely smoothed over the fact that John apparently misled Summer into thinking she was under house arrest and had to stay at the house with him, but as Beth pointed out, she had been free to go since being released....weird and gross. Also. they're back to bullying Jimmy?? I thought they were all past that. yeah that needs to stop already. We need another season!

Saying Colby's death added nothing to show is so short sighted. It added a whole new dimension to Beth's character as therapist, and it gave Carter a real taste of how dangerous ranch life can be, and will teach him how to deal with guilt and grief. The next time there is an unruly horse, Carter will think more than twice about getting close to it. For someone working on a ranch, that is a very valuable lesson.

They have been highlighting the cowboy life the whole season, Colby's death was sensless, that was the point. There was no reason for it, that's just the reality they face in that life. Plus they wanted something big to drive Teeter and Ryan to want to leave at the end and go back to Texas. Rip, Beth, and Carter will become the family they all need and leave for Texas to start over and take what's left of the cowboys with them. Kayce will get what's left of the ranch after its broken up and be adopted into the Lakota and donate the land to them and start a new life with his family there. Jaimee would have been nothing without John, he made him what he was when it's over he will probably "10-56" himself rather than face justice. Thus sparing Rip and Kayce from doing it and risking their future. Rip will get hired on to be manager of Dixon Creek division at 6666 and with what's left of the Yellowstone cowboys and some new faces you'll have your new favorite cowboy show. Lloyd will retire or stay on somewhere in Montana and make regular appearances on 6666 and the other new show on the res staring Kayce and Mo. That's my fan fiction.what do you think? For those being surprised that Kayce is becoming the animal he needs to be.... y'all do remember that he was a Teams guy the best of the best. Anyone who's been in Direct Combat Jobs never forgets that monster inside of you it's completely different than 95 percent of the military (it's literally full-time training to be ok with dispatching human beings on a regular basis). Kayce has always had this inside of him, it's just he put Monica and Tate first before his own personal issues. The pacing on this conclusion is just wrong, Sheridan is absolutely RUSHING it far too much. Jamie is getting the shaft in his story arc; Beth should be the one who actually gets her comeuppance if I may be honest, she literally has dug herself into so many holes but her character at this point is obviously Sheridan's fantasy woman on screen and can't do anything wrong. If TS is smart, he will try to get a final 6th season where everything comes to fruition in the sense of setting up Tate and Carter and the reservation as coming back to help save the ranch. Jamie doesn't completely deserve this BS. I'm sorry but I was a former 0311 myself and I am an attorney now, the way these characters are acting (with Kayce being the exception) are just asinine. Even I know when talking with detectives, they would never even have stepped foot into my house in the first place without a warrant. Also being an attorney General (in the show) and a combat veteran (in my personal life also I'm half native half white) I know I hold actual judicial power over LEO's, and I hold populist power with the people because they will always side with a minority veteran with medals. Literally the way they have torn down Jamie has been so abysmal he went from being a confident and competent man especially when he bailed Beth out of jail to a flaky and scared dweeb in a suit (the guy literally spent 18 years on a tough ranch how is he all of a sudden a scared suit?)...It's almost as if TS has gone back to Sons of Anarchy days and thinks that's actually how people would react in these situations. Luckily, we still have the spinoffs, and we have 1923, but we'll see. I swear though Kayce and Mo and Rainwater are the only one's carrying the plot forward at this point.

Agree with you about Jamie. Logically, he should have killed Beth when she followed him to The Train Station. He should not have killed his real father. There was no need for that. They need to let Rip continue to run the ranch. And instead of selling everything they need to let Beth figure it out because she knows how to monopolize. They need to let Tate take ownership because for one he is a Dutton and two he is also of native heritage. If anyone watched 1883 that chief told the Dutton family that they could have the land for 6 generations but will have to give it back to the people or peril will happen. Giving the land to Tate will in a way be giving the land back to the indigenous people and still have ties to the Dutton family.

It is interesting to see the level of commentaries about a fictional entertainment story drama. The talent of the story creator is evident by the volume and degree of involvement and issues imagined by the people willing to comment on social media.

They are destroying this show! Killing Colby was bs the only black man left on the show they kill?! They are all over the place with the storyline! Not letting casey kill the man responsible for his dads death! Their are so many holes in this show! They should have never killed off lee in season one or at least wrote it, so he had kids and a wife cause at his age he would have! Making it so casey dont even want to live on the ranch is weird, plus beth hates the house, and only one kid between beth and casey come on!!! Its like they are writing it to basically kill off the ranch.

This CAN'T be the end. There is so much more that they can write to keep this show alive, even if it's for one last season of 12 episodes. It can't just end in 5 lighting fast episodes. What the heck. I'm also so mad that they killed off Colby, I wanted to see the Colby and Teeter's love story and have some happiness instead of doom and gloom, but whatever. And what happened with Jimmy and his new lady at 6666? Maybe that's to be seen on 6666. I don't know, but I just hope there will be a season six

When the cast heard Costner resigned, they said fk it. And left too. Get new writers.

I love coming to the comments section and reading all of these conspiracy theories. Not the ones about the show, but the ones about behind the camera actions, comments, benefits, etc. You would think these commenters all had backstage access to private meetings and negotiations. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️

In Game of Thrones, I wanted the dragon queen to die from the first episode, and she did. From the get-go I have been rooting for Jamie and Jamie will come out on top.

A huge majority of these series always last longer than they ever should and then the writers seem to scramble to make something work in the end

I hope a new twist comes, with John not dead, and all of this was a cleaning, and sifting out ,of those who can't be trusted. Long Live Yellowstone

OMG Colby’s death and the aftermath broke my heart! I would LOVE to see Rip take Jamies son and give him to Beth, get rid of Jamie and the baby mom bc she was hateful too!!

The horse attacking and killing Colby fell too close to home. There's an animal sanctuary that I follow here that is located an hour or so from me. They have a young horse that was untamed and last winter, the wife went into the stall to take its blanket off and it kicked her and hurt her bad. Luckily didn't kill her. So Colby's death by horse attack was more upsetting

Watching this show has been hard at times, seeing how John treated Jamie who only ever wanted his approval. Jamie has done some terrible things but maybe if he had a father to guide him instead of pushing him to work for John's gain and not his own. Demanding loyalty like some kind of tyrant. Never letting him have the career he wanted, no, you do as I say or you're out of the family. I wonder if the poor guy will survive this.

I hoped for a good ending to a wonderful show! Couldn’t believe he killed off Elsa in 1883, wish for once TS would listen to the fans opinions and do the show justice, for how beloved the show was! To me the finale would have to be a 4 hour ending to cover just half of what needs to covered!

Colby's death led to the horse being taken to the field and Kayce and Tate walking past the family cemetery. Maybe that conversation was the point? I'm still waiting for someone to tell us about the Indian remains they found in a previous season.
@Fully-semi-autoКүн бұрын
Those remains were from the 1883 flashback when one of the Natives wanted to bury his father and John allowed it.
