Perhaps she was really who she was and got scammed herself. she would not be the first wealthy person scammed by a financial advisor. There was a real character who married Lord Carnavan of Highclere Castle in the late 1800's. Rothchild was her rumored father. Her mother's husband was her legal father but Rothchild paid major money so his little girl born on the wrong side of the sheets could be a countess. Since Downtown Abbey was filmed at Highclere Castle, I could see Julian Fellowes wanting this little nod to Downton Abbey. Perhaps Maude will end up with that duke after Gladys refuses to cooperate.

Love your theories! I would like to see Oscar and Maude to be partners in crime. I always thought she was queer herself, since Aurora says she had a female companion and it seems she really was in Paris before scamming Oscar, and in the Belle Époque gays and lesbians would find more freedom there than anywhere in Europe. Maybe she’s presenting him to her crew and that explains the handsome guys in dresses? Nice videos btw :)

I'm so glad to see Maude's return. I always felt that she liked Oscar, and didn't really want to go through with robbing him. However, more importantly, I felt like she could possibly have been a lesbian and in a similar situation as Oscar. I'm guessing that somehow they get back together, marry, share the van Rjin money, and provide a cover for each other's secret lifestyle.

Unfortunately, I do not have HBO. Nevertheless, I've certainly enjoyed the scenes posted on KZbin. So many outstanding actors! I'd love to be a fly on the wall during breaks if (when) some decide to sing their own musical interlude!! Such a joy that would be!

I like the idea of them getting married but I thought he has to help her pull one scam to get his money. He doesn’t know about Ada’s money yet. I thought he left because he was sad and ashamed maybe he was looking for Maud

Maybe Maud landed on top and has all the money but would like to be with Oscar. Oscar cannot marry without money and she would not be forgiven so easily for taking the family fortune. She has to come baring gifts if she is to be allowed back in the social circle

It would be nice if you had covered Maud and put a question mark instead of the name in the thumbnail, so you avoid spoilers by accident and also create intrigue to get more people into the video.

I tried that method with previous videos but it rarely works. This didn't work either anyway so you might be right 🤷‍♀️
