I think there is something prophetic about Jonathan playing Jesus. From one of the interviews what I gathered was that he immerses himself into prayer so much asking Jesus for advice on how to play this role. . . that now I understand why when he actually plays it I get transported to feel like Jesus was actually there. I told him I thought he would absolutely come under spiritual attack given his role and the importance of his portrayal and he and we prayed together. This is so beautiful. To truly connect with the essence of the Christ and feel the sorrow and the pain also. I can relate to a moment when i was meditating on christ and it was holy Friday . Somehow I got caught by a bunch of torns outside and i ended up stepping on on that penetrated my skin and while i saw tge blood and the torn .. all i could think feel and see was the knage of the Christ on the cross and I cried non stop and heavily for a long time I felt ao much pain and sorrow . I dont have the words to describe how much pain i felt in my heart. It was a meaningful moment and connected me even more to the Christ .

I just want to thank you Jonathan for representing Christ in such a beautiful way. I was watching your interview titled “Jonathan Rumi, Being Depressed in the Chosen- season five interviews“. This is going to sound strange, but it was a real encouragement for me as I lost my husband six years ago after a prolonged battle with cancer. The last six years have been brutal for me as well, as I moved out of state after he died to live near a friend who was then diagnosed with cancer and died nine months later. Then Covid hit, then I started having health problems of my own. I have been struggling with depression, exhaustion, both emotional, and physical, and spiritual as well. Your interview reminded me that I need to surrender daily to the Lord and not try to carry this burden called “life” all by myself. I know I should be doing this, but sometimes you just get caught up in everything that’s going on around you and forget. I pray that when the Chosen is over, you will take some time to yourself to recover from the demands that you’ve had upon you. I can’t imagine a more demanding role than that of portraying Jesus Christ, and you’ve done it beautifully! A shout out to Dallas and everyone else from the Chosen as well as each person has brought SO much to the character that they’ve represented! God bless you all!!

I said a prayer for Jonathan. I'm thinking "burnout", and I hope he gets the R&R he needs. May God send him comfort and guidance to help him get through this. I'm so grateful for The Chosen and for Jonathan's loving and honest portrayal of Jesus.
