Number one are they going to show Jesus washing his disciples feet at the last supper? There is no excuse for them tonight show the Ascension of Jesus into Heaven. I have watched many stories about Jesus, the three that stand out for me the most are Jesus of Nazareth, played by Robert Powell, Mel Gibson’s the Passion of the Christ, played by Jim Caviezel, who was also 33 when it was filmed, and I knew that this was more truthful on how Jesus suffered, more so than what usually was shown and done within other films, this was explicit and graphic, emotional heart rendering examples of his pain and suffering…I cried most of the way through these scenes it broke my heart….,and the Chosen, with Johnathon Roumie as Jesus, who had brought Jesus closer on how he might have been more interactive and caring with people around Him, especially with His disciples and interacting more than shown in previous films….it did mention them arguing who would be on his right or left side in the Bible and the Chosen showed their limitations and gifts God gave them Thank you Johnathon for doing the role of Jesus, and it’s hard for me to explain this, but this is the Jesus I have felt what Jesus to be, a loving, caring and compassionate Jesus, more than what I have seen before in films, it may have been there in films, but NOT the way you helped bring Jesus to be, merciful and forgiving, with wisdom beyond His years, setting examples and expectations for others to follow, in the way that I believe and feel Jesus is within my heart…being God’s son he would be, Jesus would have know things, even His own way of suffering and death. It’s hard to portray Jesus, because we really don’t know what He was like, and only get a slight glimpse of Him in the Bible, but that is how we get to know Him as well, by His teachings and experiences with others, examples of His life and His love for us as well….a compassionate Jesus. I am grateful for Dallas and his team of writers, but quite truthfully, I could not see anyone else in this role as Jesus than Jonathan. Jonathan made a way for everyone on this show, with his dedication, talent and even his sacrifices mental and physical. No matter if he got paid or not, I've seen really bad actors getting paid to act badly. This is not Jonathan, and I sincerely hope that Dallas and anyone else involved in this faith based genre remember who helped them get to where they are now. Yes, all are talented, but Jonathan's face and his talent is what brought Jesus to life for so many of us. I will not forget Jonathan. I will forever be grateful to him for his portrayal of Jesus because he truly is an angel on earth. He literally helped to save my very soul from going in the wrong direction, and I pray that people are intelligent enough and selfless enough to realize what they have in him. On another note, I know he will do well. He's too talented not to, and he's been blessed by the Holy Spirit with his talent. Jonathan Roumie should be in The Chosen till the end, as the last scene of the Gospels is His Ascension. Season 6 will be about the Crucifixion, but Dallas Jenkins did not reveal if it will also cover the Resurrection; either way, Jonathan Roumie will pay the major part in that season; after the Resurrection, he will be less on screen, but he will still have plenty of scenes. In The Acts, his part will indeed be episodic, but he will still have to make a few appearances, such as the one on the road to Damascus or the famous "Quo vadis, Domine?" There is no end, just as there is no end to the presence of Jesus amidst us.
