Top 6 (from my collection): 1. Viking - the drydown, masculinity, signature worthy for sure. 2. Aventus Cologne - DNA of Aventus with freshness, so easy to wear & impossible to go wrong. 3. Viking Cologne - Juicy opening, cant get enough. Sophisticated drydown, not a groundbreaking DNA but done very very well. 4. Tabarome - Gentleman, very unique, amazing combination of notes. 5. Original Santal - such an easy to wear, pleasing, yet still has that niche aspect that twist that makes it stand out. 6. Original Vetiver - the ultimate "clean soapy" fragrance. The fragrance when you really just want to feel fresh, honestly pretty hard to imagine that anyone would genuinely dislike this one. Ive tried alot of niche houses but Creed is what resonated with me the most also, being this expensive of a hobby I think I'll focus on this line for a while! Haha. Definitely looking forward to your top 5, NFC. Thanks for the video, best regards.

Why should I buy a copy of something that might not smell the way I want. People who push Armaf piss me off. If I can't afford Creed I'm not going to buy the second best. I'm just going to buy something else. Chanel, Savage, Paco Roban, Prada, Dolce and Gabbana. There are tons of other fragrances. I like creed because it's unique and since it's expensive I hardly smell it.

Creed has some of the highest quality out of any fragrance house there isn’t many other houses that can do what they do green Irish tweet Aventus smell so realistic I now respect them not making fragrance nuclear ☢️ trying to make it last all day because once u do that you will totally botch the fragrance in the way it smell. Creed gives u 4-6hrs but it gives u it in a natural way. And many people wear creed go to any department store in a mall they’re always re stocking. That’s like me saying nobody at my job wear creed that’s a small sample size those department stores always restocking. Creed aventus is the number 1 searched fragrance in 2023 search volume of 772,500. Aventus tops the 2023 charts with a popularity score of 9.43 out of 10 even at a retail of $500 a far second is Versace Eros 480,300 popularity score of 9.08 out of 10. So yeah maybe nobody around you wear it but you’re not the world. So people aren’t wearing creed? 2023 Aventus ranks #9 in sales with $26.80M and no other niche house made that list. Creed rank #1 in sales out of all niche houses. So creed sells just people around you not wearing it not people in the world. Just some facts. It’s a reason they say Aventus is king because it is the king of niche.

Your nephew is a lucky young guy to be getting a fantastic education on what to wear. Like yourself I'm a Creed fan through thick and thin and own all the stinks on the table except Original Santal which I no longer own. Truth be told I never gave that bottle the chance it deserved and may revisit again one day. Right now I'm having fun with what I already own. And as I've already told you, a decant of Acier Aluminum arrived in the mail today I'm taking that discontinued stinker on its maiden voyage tomorrow. Mask wearing by the public may have hampered their ability to smell delicious flavor, so I'll see what reactions I get. Thanks again for all you do here.
@TheNicheFragranceCollector2 жыл бұрын
Good luck with the 'new' Creed....I'd be curious to get your thoughts on this one (especially since I was totally unaware of this fragrance until you brought it up). And yes, mask wearing does dampen the personal experience of perfume wearing and how others react to a fragrance that is being worn. I always love getting compliments for a perfume that I'm wearing and I also love smelling perfumes on others.....but it's all good, this too will pass

It’s always a joy to listen to people talking about how much they love their Creed fragrances. For me, it’s really hard to rank them too. However I do own two bottles of Royal Mayfair simultaneously (120-ml and 75-ml from different stores) simply because I love it so much! I usually wear it alone but sometimes layer it with other Creeds and when that happens the one that is sprayed right at my neck will always be RM.

I own a lot of niche fragrances from tons of niche houses, say what you want about creed, performance and price, but no niche house makes better scent profiles than creed. There scents are just absolutely gorgeous. Creed fragrances are my favorite, they are extremely high quality, and they have unique, beautiful scent profiles that are also extremely easy to wear and that people really love. When I throw on a creed fragrance I have insane confidence that I am the best smelling person in the room. A lot of niche houses you never really know because there scents can be very polarizing and difficult to pull off. In my opinion, creed is the king of the SCENT. Disregarding the performance and price, I personally can afford to just spray extra. If you can’t than I understand your quandary with creed, but you have to understand this is a fragrance house made for people who can afford these scents. It’s a very prestigious house with a long lineage. Creed fragrances are somewhat delicacies. I honestly don’t mind the price point because it adds to the exclusivity and prestige of this fragrance house. I feel special when owning and wearing these fragrances.

@@TheNicheFragranceCollector Hey again, I think I've conversed with you but maybe under a different or old account on here, about Orto Parisi, which I delved into deeply based on your reviews, and purchased 3 from the collection based on your advice, and I do not regret at all :) Himalaya; possibly, maybe somehow it has to do with an olfactory memory? Noooo idea :) But in answer to your question, it's the green spicy element that is reminiscent (to me!) of bay leaf to an extent, does that make sense? Can you relate or smell the note/accord that I'm on about? It's that part of Himalaya that I do no like. I tried to like it again, and tried it on a different day as I know, diet, medication, etc, that can have an effect on smell perception, but alas I get that same vibe. As I type my reply to your good self, I can smell it on my head, and strangely enough, there is a part of me addicted, but when I apply it, I regret it, and it has a very lasting and strong smell on me. Viking sadly got cancelled from the seller I was purchasing it from and never arrived, it is on my list, but also I am very very interested in Bois Du Portugal (do you have a review? I'm being lazy, but I think you do :) ). I agree with you strongly over Aventus Cologne, totally :). I am intrigued why you are so interested in Viking? Are you saying I should re-purchase it? I take your advice and preferences quite seriously, I know we have very very similar tastes, and yet there are some fragrances I know you like, that I dislike, but I've come to learn your preferences which are akin to mine, if that makes any sense? So my preference sits like this: 1 - Original Santal (I have a backup bottle, says a lot! I blame you ! :D ) 2 - Aventus Cologne 3 - Green Irish Tweed 4 - Millésime Impérial (I love love love, but the performance is abysmal, hence the ranking) Your dry down comments with regards to Millésime Impérial, are spot on, and I love it, this is my second bottle, different batch, and for my it's a skin scent, but one that lasts, and intimate but love it.

Its the continuous price hike over the years mirrored by a continuous reduction in quality and performance is what build the hatebase for creed. This means nothing for those that entered the fragcomm after 2020 as their price to quality reference point for Creed is what it is now.. But for the seasoned players, their reference value point for Creed is far above what Creed offers today. It cost more for less juice that’s of a lesser quality than before..

Hi there guys. Marcelo, as you know I'm a Creed fan too. And yes, it seems like I have to defend my position on Creed too often too. The house provokes animosity for various reasons, and it seems there is a bandwagon anti Creed hype that exacerbates and sustains the animosity. Lots of "FragSnobs" hate Creed especially, just see Luca Turin as an example. They are insufferable in my opinion. And it seems that general criticism of Creed SCENTS is more often than not coupled with criticism of other aspects of the House. And when I hear things like "I have been underwhelmed by every Creed fragrance I've ever smelled", I am immediately suspicious. That was said by another mostly niche fragrance KZbin reviewer whom I have since unsubscribed from (if you want to know which channel it was let me know). This same reviewer was reviewing Viking in one video and scrunched up his face and said "so crude!" while his audience subscribers were in chat exchanging inside jokes about Creed. I mean, opinions will always vary and that's legitimate, but this to me was obvious FragSnob posturing! It was like fingernails on a blackboard, so I had to unsubscribe. In my opinion, here are some of the reasons Creed is so polarizing: 1. FragSnob posturing. 2. Creed is a "Designer-esq" niche house. Some FragSnobs are also NicheSnobs and have a built in biased towards fragrances that are "challenging", which to them equates to complex, creative and artistic. Creed frags are too likeable and easy to wear for them. 3. Perceptions of lying in Creed's marketing practices. 4. Aventus success: the most successful niche fragrance of all time, the masculine equivalent of Chanel No. 5, and the resultant attention on that fragrance for a sustained length of time only stokes the passions of those on the Creed hate bandwagon. Aventus, to a degree, is an example of dying of success. 5. Price: mostly people resentful they can't afford them. 6. Perceptions of batch variations and their relationship to "quality". Anyway, here are my top Creeds (that I have tried): 1. Bois du Portugal 2. Royal Oud 3. Aventus 4. Viking 5. Green Irish Tweed 6. Green Valley 7. EROLFA 8. Royal Water 9. Spice and Wood 10. Original Vetiver 11. Virgin Island Water Oh, I'm halfway into the book "The Ghost Perfumer" which focuses on Creed and perfumer Pierre Bourdon. VERY interesting.

Hey James; I wrote too soon on @Tony Jemz post....I should have known I would have a full description👊🏼😎 I always love your thoughtful posts James and I would have to agree with every one of your points on why Creed gets a lot of drama from some perfume lovers. But hey, for me at the end of the day, I think these guys have done a great job in creating exceptional fragrances and then marketing them so well....even the book "The Ghost Perfumer" is great marketing💪🏽 (I received my copy a few days back; looking forward to enjoying this) I love your Top 11. I'm still to experience both Green Valley and Spice & Wood but have heard from a number of other subscribers that these are exceptional. As always James; great to hear from you mate👊🏼

I've been into Niche for a few years now. When I first got into it I was all in on Creed. I had many of their frags. After a while I thought I was out growing Creed. It felt like I was still a noob because I had so many Creeds. I was starting to think like the haters of Creed. So I sold almost my whole Creed collection. A while later I realized who cares if you look like a noob. Nobody cares about your collection except yourself. So I bought them all back and then some. Creed is my favorite house and always will be. I'm also half way through reading that book.

@@timh25 Boom Baby!💥 I love your comments @Tim Hachana and like you I love the Creeds. They actually make me happy when I spray them; I love how I smell when I'm wearing them Out of interest; Top 6 line up for you?🤔
@JT-rx1eo2 жыл бұрын
@@timh25 Yes this relates to my #1 and #2 points. Appreciating Creed fragrances is not a mark of a lack of fragrance sophistication. The only thing is they are easy to wear and non-challenging, and so are generally regarded as being a good niche entry point. My philosophy is a perfumer and his/her creation can be as creative, abstract and artistic as they want to be, but the fragrance better meet my initial threshold requirement, that being pleasing to me in a wearable way. And that's my philosophy regardless of me having 10 years experience or being brand new. And Creed meets my expectations and is among the highest quality scents, regardless what the anti Creed bandwagon tells you.

I have a question mark on the 'nay sayers' to the Creed history. Is it all made up? (I don't think so) Is it exaggerated in parts? (yep, like all good story telling, there's embellishments) The big question: Does it matter overall? (to me personally, not really, because I love the fragrance's...it's true that the 'story' draws my attention, but it's the beautiful fragrance's that keeps me here) Thanks for jumping into the conversation @VeryCoolAlan👊🏽 appreciate you sharing
