When I fly somewhere and want to be able to thrift while I’m out of town, I pack a soft backpack inside of my carry-on suitcase, along with my clothing. I pack all my thrift finds into my carry-on suitcase, and put all of my clothing into my backpack that I can hold at my seat with me. of course, I can’t get giant things, but I can fill my carry-on with my treasures using my clothing to protect any fragile items and then I carry the rest in my backpack which sits on my lap or at my feet on the plane. If I want to be able to thrift larger things. I will take a large suitcase that I can check. That way I’m not paying any fees to ship things home. I’m sure you’ve already thought of all of these things, but just thought I would mention it 😊 Fun video it’s always nice to see prices and items in different states.

So glad you get to get away and go do some things just for you. I'm in NC and will be traveling across country to CA in a week or so. My husband had taken a Contract job. I will have plenty of time on my hands to source and sell. My daughter will be in charge of shipping my items already listed from NC. So good to have family (as you do) that's willing and able to help with our dreams!

You should visit the South Padre Island Sea Turtles Inc. someday…. (Not this time) … It’s WAY down in the Gulf of Mexico in the most southern part of Texas. They rehab injured sea turtles. My daughter volunteered there over the summer in high school. We got to go out with them to return two rehabbed turtles. It was an INCREDIBLE experience that she and I will never forget.

In the 60s or 70s they came out with Invisible zippers which had plastic teeth. I can remember my mom putting them in double knit dresses! :) Showing my age there LOL!

You were in my State! That is a grease pencil that they wrote the prices with.. you can remove it with a dry paper towel. Great video! And remember... Keep your eyes open for any & all Shih Tzu's...lol.❤

I've been enjoying watching your thrifting while traveling. I like to do that too. What I have done is put a travel size duffle into my suitcase since it will lay flat. And then that is what I use to bring home my thrifted items as a carryon for the plane. If I need bubble wrap I go to a Dollar Tree store and pick some up. It's worked great for my last few trips that I've flown. Forgot to mention - i don't carryon my suitcase so I always can carryon a duffle bag.

Plastic zippers started in the mid-late 60s. I remember starting Home-ec and sewing a plastic zipper 1971.

The orange necklace is spiny oyster shell, it ranges from peach, orange, burgandy and purple. Love that shell I have one Native American, Navajo necklace that has cabachons in all the shades. Enjoy your videos very much, i am always drooling on things you pass buy. Although have bought a couple of things that you liked and picked up. You really need to make it a priority to set up hours for your self to work your job. That way you have time for your kids and your self! So during the week set your work hours from a certain time in the morning until a certain time in the afternoon! Just like a normal person working would. It’s possible to do this within bonds.

We lived in Downey when the Whittier quake hit. My Dad lost his entire collection of Jim Beam bottles. Our concrete backyard fence crumbled to the ground. Crazy time!

That Cabochon pin with the fancy-looking swirled brass-pinback grounds, are likely Czechoslovakian in origin. The shiny orange-colored parts are glass. They used to mount beads and small glass items with flat backs on similar brass metal mountings, for earrings. Clip-ons were done in that manner.

Loving this video! I am traveling to Texas in a couple of weeks and plan to film an adventure when I'm there - this is a good reminder of what to grab and what to stay away from! 😂 I would have a REALLY hard time not getting that dishware set - but that adds a lot of weight to your luggage and always the possibility of breakage. But it was so cool! ❤

Thanks Danni for the fun and education. I sell a lot of fine china and cups and saucers are really not big sellers. If I buy a collection from an estate sale, most of the time I end up donating the cups and saucers. Mugs (in fine china) sell well though. We like our big servings these days, whether it's food or drink!
