When he was talking about the personal decisions made in game, about how he personally allowed Elisa to pass, it made a lot of sense. I would wager that many of us who have played the game probably let Elisa in, as did the director. It was genius that in the short film that the Inspector decides to deny her entry for dramatic effect. Well done.

It's intresting because after Elisa every "moral" entrant I denied because I needed the cash for medicine, I was playing on easy but I just slowly watched my funds dwindle, it's rough.

The actors playing the inspector and Elisa were really amazing. The scene where the inspector's sense of duty and professionalism clashes with his humanity and compassion for that innocent young woman is just fantastic! You see how much the guy is deeply shaken as a human being after denying her. Elisa plays is really impressive too. I like how she radiates innocence, charm and kindness while being quite shy and withdrawn at the same time. You need to be a very good actress to show so much without being too actively expressive.

Congratulations on making excellent cinema! The movie is engrossing, true to the source material and, at the same time, is it's own product. The guy who plays the inspector does a killer job. The photography director too! Excellent atmosphere. I played a lot of the game and I truly felt inside the border checkpoint office. Way to go! Hope to see more of your projects in the future!

I think one of the many problems that occurs when translating a game to movie is that the people involved simply do not care, you might hear "oh I played Pong when I was a kid", can you imagine if Kubrick when adapting the Shining had said "Oh books, I know those things, I read Doc Seuss when I was 7" and that was it. And then you find out nobody in the cast had ever played a game in their life and treat it as if they are embarrassed by the idea. This movie had more love than the adaptations for Max Payne.

There were still a few things which didn't resemble the game. Jorji didn't have that tiny funny bum vibe, just a bit older, the inspector doesn't have a humour, like in the game when he says 'Hello, Jorji' when Jorji comes in day 31. No Ezic agent came, not Calensk, no suicide bomber, and I can continue

Like they said, they based it around a story beat from the game that they thought would incite the most emotion and paid homage to as much as they could otherwise.

You can see the burnt scraps of the shawl his companion was wearing when the inspector leaves the booth, and as she is not shown, this heavily implies she was the bomber. Also, Jorji's character only really got through via his passports. His Cobrastan passport is shown in the montage of passport covers, his physical desc. is filed as: Good look Blue yies Very Toll And his sex: 1234-OKOK

Когда впервые посмотрел, создалось ощущение собраного до конца пазла, когда все детали стоят на своих местах, и ни одна из них не упущена. Даже у меня, как у зрителя появилось чувство удовольствия от "проделанной работы". И да конечно, это именно то, чего сейчас так не хватает, здравой прагматики приближенной к человеческому быту, событий с последствиями которых мы сейчас имеем дело, не с одной драмой которую "обсасывают" со всех сторон в течении всего метража, а множеством драм человеческих судеб людей, которым в свое время было "не до айфонов". Созданная атмосфера наживую вытаскивает из генетической памяти ощущение причастности к происходящему, через предыдущие поколения. Восторг! Слава Арстоцке!

Даже не смотря на то что в саму игру я не играл - во первых все было понятно, во вторых появилось дикое желание поиграть самому и я понял что пропустил что-то важное, ну и в третьих конечно Игорь Юрьевич Савочкин - просто феноменальный актер (для меня один из лучших в снг, если не самый лучший) который помог полностью погрузиться в атмосферу происходящего. Хотелось бы его так же чаще видеть на экране особенно в картинах такого уровня. Для меня это прям "идеальная смесь" и как вы и сказали на самом деле дримкаст :D Пересматривал с момента выхода несколько раз - и все еще не надоедает. I like how the short film stayed true with the original story of the game, but also reimagined and created much finer detail from pixelated game, like the costume and the checkpoint office's set up. Awesome works guys.

i was really happy that this game finally get a short movie!, even though at firsr i was kind of sad that the inspector doesn't let Elisa pass, but after hearing your reason to make it more dramatical, i agree. It was a short film after all, if we just let Elisa pass like that then film will get boring and less dramatic (tbh my adrenaline really rise up after seeing Elisa got denied) I really hopes this game will really get a widescreen adaption (in addition we let Elisa pass and meeting Jorji hahaha) Anyway keep up the good work!. Seems like we already have new gret future film director :D. edit: i kind of forget Jorji Costava's name because i used to call him Georgie lol. edit it.

I've not even played the game, just sometimes watched my kids playing it and had them rather enthusiastically telling me what it is about. But I was really impressed by this short film. I'm glad my youngest said I simply must watch it.
