OK it's hard enough to improv one character. She's improvising two characters simultaneously. This is some serious skill.

@@keithgraham9547 How in hell would you presume to know that? On the one hand its arguable that's what everyone does throughout life. And on the other hand, where does acting end and self begin? That won't be easy to untangle if she's 'living the part' which she (in fact both of them) seem to be doing incredibly well. My only complaint is that from the glimpses of their whole posture you caught both of them were really living it. Nina looked incredibly curled up and withdrawing when she had monkey saying 'touch my vagina Dr Lennin'. She was actually turned away from both of them. Brilliant.
@Farweasel4 жыл бұрын
@@keithgraham9547 You are saying 'look at her ACT, you can tell she has issues'. My point is it IS an act. You cannot validly determine whether she: 'Has issues' , is the most sane person ever to have lived or is a total fruitbat. You are watching a performance, the projection of a character where the sketch is predicated on her &/or Monkey having issues! As for 'She's an actor, most people who are actors or politicians have serious issues' (even 'though from personal contact with them I am strongly inclined to believe most politicians are abnormal) 'and she is an actor, so by extension she most likley does have issues', there are many excellent videos explaining the logical fallacy of circular arguments. Put it into the search bar above and you'll be offered a lot of options to view. Ironic you assert 'you can't prove issues mathematically'. Depends what you mean by 'issues' of course. But you can screen & differentiate very effectively psychoses, neuroses, personality disorders and broadly normal states with psychometric tools which are derived from statistical analyses.
@Farweasel4 жыл бұрын
@@keithgraham9547 Keith, are you familiar with the phrase 'When you're in a hole stop digging yourself in deeper'? You rail passionately about loopy politicians ~ I already said from my contact with more than I would wish to have met I agree most are pretty strange. They're mainly driven people with egos that need a double garage to park them. With regard screening tools as diagnostic aids I already explained they're derived from statistical analyses. They don't 'measure the heat given off by lunacy' or anything of that sort. They have been derived by getting many unfortunate psychiatric patients and others to fill in multiple choice questions and from that its been possible to determine clusters of responses which, after several stages of refinement of the tests, are consistently accurate in identifying - or ruling out - a range of mental illnesses & other problems. They would not get American Psychiatric Association Approval for use if they weren't proven to be valid. All this is public domain if you wish to check it. Denying reality - which it seems you're trying to do when you refute this - is not usually a positive trait to have. You also claim I'm 'defending' Nina for ulterior reasons. You seem not to grasp I am not. defending her at all. Simply pointing out you are jumping to conclussions for which there is not sufficient evidence in the video to support. and if you reread what I said carefully you might take in what I actually said was: You cannot validly determine whether she: 'Has issues' , is the most sane person ever to have lived or is a total fruitbat. As far as I'm concerned I have no investment in arguing which or where on that scale Nina's located. I don''t know either. Which is actually the key point. On the up-side, we both clearly enjoyed the videos.

These 'therapy sessions' are so damn clever. Not unlike her stage shows, Nina manages to alter your perception of reality in an way that is both obvious and subtle at the same time. If she came up with the idea for this format she is really a unique comedy genius. Talk about really putting a different spin on the traditional ventriloquist's performance. I think she and Monkey should be asked to be the host for one of those dreadful Emmy/Golden Globe award shows that Ricky Gervais does and see what she comes up with. It would be a real challenge for herAND the audience of 'stars'. On second thought, she should probably be the host for a BAFTA night because the American humour 'sensibility' may not cope with, or understand, it. Just a thought, Nina. -- Leigh
