That section with Nina's gynecologist is hilarious, and I think the contrast between the nasty monk and the very straight-faced overly serious doctor. But I would've gone completely crazy if I were her husband. Her father was incredibly insightful when he referred to the tv camera, "you have to feed it." I thought he was brilliant.

I once knew a Disc Jockey who did numerous voice characters on his radio program. HIs show was extremely funny and quite popular. He told me at a party one night that he couldn't always control what the characters said and he found that more than a little frightening.

I have never enjoyed comedy very much , but I have to say I really do enjoy your performances. I adore your ability to laugh at Monk (yourself) as you do, I love the fact that you have a lot of brass,the genealogist was great ,but the Cop was the best. I think it is wonderful when a woman has the courage to say whatever to whomever even if it is through Monk (lol)!!!!!!!

5:30 Absolutely classic! Almost laughed-up a lung! Well done Tom for playing along. There is something far deeper about the Nina/Monk dynamic than at first meets the eye (of course). Quite apart form the obvious anti-PC "say what's really on your mind" thing going on (which is refreshing, hilarious, AND entertaining), there is also the psycho-social/emotional angle that would be great from a human but is just plain wacky coming from a monkey hand puppet. Kind of hard to put into words. It's abstract as all hell and I love it. Dark at one end, light and funny at the other. Good stuff. My Mrs finds it hilarious, too (and why not). The other day I was explaining a mistake I'd made and she was all caring and empathetic, then (in a Monk voice) said, "You're a f#$%*&^g idiot." I laughed so hard I almost blacked out. Great, too, that it's all just edgy enough to keep some folk guessing (bless 'em!). Thank you!

The weird part is, I actually started to think what if this was real. Some really nasty insight into one’s mind, or, the mind of two individuals. I wonder how many personalities/identities each of us carries in their skull, never knowing who the one currently in control is. What if we are just passive and silent observers, but at the same time not aware of all this? I mean, am I writing this or am I reading this right now? The fingers typing on the keyboard - who do they belong to? Some time ago they wrote things which I wish I could take back. I was not insulting anybody, just was mean to myself. OK, wait a minute. I am really just the observer. Free will is an illusion. Much like the Monkey talking. Who is the person who is now asking if this post should not be deleted?
