Duffle is the most honest, apologetic, real, humble, and introspective dude I've ever heard in an interview. Hey Corey, thank you for showing people how to be accountable for ones own past and for showing how to show and express courage through true humility.

Salvador Reyes I honestly don’t see how you can take this away from his breakdown of what happened. He seems to have taken responsibility for what he said. Dude said he felt bad immediately after he did the interview & still feels bad to this day. The thing is, though, at a certain point, you have to look at the full scope of things and see that the people at Big Brother were at least partly to blame for what happened to him. I mean, posting the messages of Corey crying on their website?? That’s some cold ass shit, man. I would have resentments too. He’s taken responsibility, but he also is smart enough to know that it wasn’t entirely his fault. The stuff he said was absolutely his fault, but the stuff that happened afterwards was entirely Big Brother’s fault.
@salvadorreyes1337
@salvadorreyes1337 5 жыл бұрын
@@BrandonBowditch Nobody made Corey say anything. Read the the interview. He did apologize then completely blamed them for doing what he did. They never told him to use "nigger." They even asked him if he was sure he wanted to say that. Big Brother thought he was a racist, so they did what they did after. Fuck Corey. You're not seeing it from BB prospective.

What I always wondered was that people always brought up Corey's or Andy Roy's Big Brother interviews but kinda sweep under the rug like Danny Way's incident, Andrew Reynolds n-bomb, Jason Jesse's background and stuff like that. Not that all these things personally bothers or insults me or I want them to be excluded from the industry because I believe everyone is a human, a lot of stuff is out of context and that you can forgive for all that at some point as long as death or permanent injury is not involved, just how selective people are and how the industry treats some still as the "heroes" but some as the villains.
@tunelowplayslow5623
@tunelowplayslow5623 5 жыл бұрын
Because they are owners of the industry or at least at a "legendary" status because of their skill level when they came on the scene. Corey though incredibly talented just falls in with a lot of what was happening at that time. Big rail hammers and gaps. Not sure how this other guy in the comments thinks beating a gay man to death for his sexuality is somehow better than being a neo-nazi. At least Jason never put his hands on someone, or rolled with a crew who beat blacks to death.

I don't know if any of you guys remember how it was in the early 2000's, but I certainly recall homophobia not just being accepted within the skateboarding community, but pretty much being the norm. Skaters like to pat themselves on the back for being open minded and all that, but at the end of the day, we're not better than anybody else. Giving Corey shit for something he said when he was a 15 year old spazzy kid is ridiculous.
