I’m 32 and I work in a restaurant. I remember being 20 and thinking I would never stay this long, but it’s been really great since having kids. I have a lot of flexibility and we haven’t needed daycare. I switched careers and worked at a retirement home as a PSW for a year and a half. I loved it, but I make literally twice the money serving and don’t have to clean up poopy diapers. Nothing wrong with serving at all, I don’t think people understand how good the money is (granted I live in Canada and make $17 an hour plus tips. I know the wage isn’t always as great in the states).

In Ontario where I live now, it’s $15 but our restaurant is really great and they pay more than min. Tips are generally $200-500 more than my pay checks monthly. America needs to catch tf up! I still think our wages are too low in this country, I cannot imagine trying to live on tips alone. ETA: to put it into perspective….America’s min wage is $7.25. I made &7.50 when I first started working 15 years ago. And in that time it has doubled (was just raised to $15 in December). If our lil country can do it, yours can too! Always vote if you can!! I think they came to that conclusion because of the relationship the two had. She was "like a housewife", the mom was out of the picture, she took care of the other siblings, the father was abusive to her (in what ways isn't made clear). She then cancelled on her girlfriend to go on a trip on VALENTINES DAY, where she posted pictures captioned with hearts and showed champagne glasses and what sounds like a honeymoon style suite. Then when her girlfriend texted her angry about the situation, she tried to say that it wasn't her dad and that it was someone else (because a romantic getaway with her father is fuckin weird even if they didn't have sex lol). I think it's a bit of a stretch on the part of the writer to assume they did, but they may have had more information that they didn't provide

Story time: it’s 2016, I’m 14 in 9th grade and I have -27/10 self esteem, I meet this girl and she was into me for some reason so since I thought this would be my only chance at a high school relationship I went along with it. We “dated” (we never actually went on any dates, just hung out in her basement and watched tv) for about a month and then I was able to convince my mom to let me stay the night at her house by lying saying there’d be the whole friend group there. Things escalated and since I had 0 experience, confidence and was so far from being emotionally ready for all that, it was so painfully awkward. Almost complete silence the whole morning after and about an hour after my mom picked me up she broke up with me over text and then talked shit about me to all of her and my friends :) I’m gay now
@sophiefell97483 жыл бұрын
God that sounds terrible. I hope you’re happier now that you’ve come out and know that regardless of the situation you should never be made to feel shitty or awkward by the person you’re with. btw I can definitely relate as I dated a guy in hs for a week before I came out as gay and have also been dumped over text 😌

lol I had a girl do the diabetes thing to me, instead she kept saying she had panic attacks. We went a few days without speaking and I wasnt even sure if we were together (I was young). She wasnt answering my calls so I called her from my work phone and she picked up, as soon as I sadi hey, she hung up. So I called her left her a voicemail that if she didnt tell me what was going on I was going to tell her best friend that she slept with her boyfriend and she called me back crying and finally admitted she was with another guy. That diabetes story had me laughing I knew exactly what was going on when she said about it being stressful for him. Oh, and Meghan, if you're reading this comment, how are you still working at your parents mexican restaurant and do they need a server for monday and tuesdays?

Hey Noel, you should look into Betterhelp a little bit. I've heard they're not the best company and I wouldn't want you to get backlash for taking a sponsorship from them if they end up in some kind of scandal at some point in the future.

I bought a girl flowers today as somewhat of a joke, I saw them and they made me think of her. So I bought them, delivered them, and she later found them and knew it was from me and loved them; allegedly cried and I "made her month". I also, left a shitty ass note but she loved it. Not every girl can appreciate kind gestures, and as Noel said you shouldn't let one bad experience hold you back.

It's like acting like friends with someone for the most part, except there's kissing qnd other romantics involved. You don't have to have sex immediately or for a while if you're not ready/if you want to have an emotional connection beforehand, but you still need to communicate that with your partner so that they're on the same page as you 😊
@maddieb.428210 ай бұрын
You can always take it slow and there’s no rush to meet someone. Just wait until you meet a friend who is patient and understanding with you and that you also are attracted to. There are a lot of people like you, I’m sure you’ll find someone you have a lot in common with!
