There's two things happening: Noel asked for weird. Trauma stories can be also weird. Noel technically asked for it, and so he shall receive. The second thing is that these people may want a comedian to laugh at their trauma story because their form of coping is laughing at it and moving on. Seeing another person laugh at it reinforces that yes, it _was_ a fucked up thing that happened, but it's said and done and all they want to do is laugh and be grateful they made it out in one piece. Don't get me wrong I totally agree with you but there's some moving pieces at play that people might not notice.

Noel's such a cool dude in these. Just deadass telling Walmart girl she sucks and "joker reincarnated" girl that she's bullying her memory of a 14-year-old. Maybe I feel vindicated by it because I was total cringe back then and now I'm only mostly cringe, but seriously it bothers me how many adults pretend they can keep bullying children for being children. Reminds me of the types of people who would yell insults out their car window at kid-me when I was walking down the street. I remember when I was eleven I wore a tank top out for a trip to the park and some twenty-something white dudes yelled "you shouldn't wear sleeveless tops unless you have muscles!" at an eleven year old. I wasn't cringe for dressing for the weather, they were cringe for having nothing better to do than yell at children and make them feel bad about their bodies.

That Walmart dude story: whoever sent that is has a problem called "never wanting to be alone" in the sense that they never want to feel like they don't have a partner to go to, but not for any true value in a relationship, but because being alone potentially means having to address your shortcomings. I knew someone like this. They're very toxic personalities. It's ok to be alone and to take time to better yourself. There is nothing wrong with not always being in a relationship with someone. The girl that did “Marty” (I just don’t wanna call him Walmart) so dirty is just gross, man. I feel like by her little “...oops” she just feels like it’s a quirky little “lol I was *such* a naughty baddie ahhhh 🙈” and hasn’t actually learned that the guy had feelings like Noel said. She really learned no empathy or respect from that. Poor Marty, dude deserved so much better than that. EDIT: I wanna add a disclaimer because I thought that story took place in college, but going back I see it was high school. It was still an awful thing to do, it was still gross what she did, and Marty still deserved better; so while them being in high school doesn’t excuse anything, it does just put a different perspective on the stupid and immature decisions she made. So I have, like, 10% more sympathy for her past self in terms of poor decision making skills...but if she truly didn’t gain any perspective from what went down with Marty, then that almost makes her current self *worse* because she had even more time to grow from this incident and just...didn’t. :/
@Oujouj4263 жыл бұрын
Her retelling the story with absolutely no remorse, but even as a response to a "weird relationships" prompt, shows that she just straight up didn't mature as a person at all, however long ago the story was. She's still that empathy-less teenager at heart.

@@chugchug72 For sure, I’m not someone who thinks that this would be the norm among high schoolers. By high school standards it’s still an absolutely horrible thing to do, and most have better insight than that. If this was something that happened now I’d hope for that girl to at least grow into a decent person, but since this happened presumably some time ago, that unfortunately hasn’t happened.
