My favourite PT song on my favourite PT album (Deadwing), but sadly I think you are right. It is too complex for the main stream. But that's why, you can enjoy it in hundred times. I think this is the song what everyone should listen who is looking for inspiring rockmusic.

The first time I heard this , I was on a rail track walking, minding my own business. The first parts didn't hit me up. But when that 9/9 part came on. I immediately knew I had to check on them. And the rest you guys know what happened. It was around 2012. I discovered the best band imo & its 2021 still praising them for what they have left for their listeners. I feel pity for rest of the people who couldn't connect to them. I wish I could erase my memory & go back to the moment.

Always in my thoughts you are Always in my dreams you are I got your voice on tape, I got your spirit in a photograph Always out of reach you are Cold inside my arms you are Simple like a child you are I remember when you took my hand and led me through the rain Down inside my soul you are The more I show the way I feel The less I find you give a damn The more I get to know The less I find that I understand Innocent, the time we spent Forgot to mention we're good friends You thought it was the start of something beautiful? Well think again. Mother lost her looks for you Father never wanted you I trust to love and then I find you never really felt the same There's something in your heart so cruel

What is this all about? I can understand that it is about someone's love for a person but I don't get why he included the parents too. That was a bit off.

It's about unrequited love - he's been rejected or jilted by the person he's singing to. If you read all the lyrics, he's clearly bitter, vacillating between his attraction towards her and his anger at her rejection. The chorus is him essentially stating that he's done with being "friends" if she won't acknowledge his advances. The mention of the parents is an insult, in a way; he's saying that she's essentially unwanted by her family and the people around her, but that even though he cares for her she ignores him.

I missed the chance of seeing them live way back in 08, also because i thought there would be plenty of other opportunities, but mainly because I needed to work overtime on a stupid project... In a job I was later let go like a dog as soon as the crisis hit hard and IMF were called to Portugal in 2010. Last year, I didn't make the same mistake. One of my life's biggest regrets, solved. Top 3 shows of my life, ever.

Constant amazement at the perfection in these guys live performances! I’m just waking up to Porcupine Tree and Steven Wilson. Had a chance to see Steven a couple years ago at a small venue in SLC but missed it. I’m kicking myself for that dumbass mistake.

Steven's guitar playing (or should i say Steven's guitar "crying") from 6:35 onwards, goddamn those notes hit right in the feels Also, I definitely am in love with the song in its entirety, but 4:40 onwards this song goes from great music to an other worldly vibe, one of the best build ups to and followed by an amazing outro.

How these guys make considerable amount of their songs very heavy without the decibel is something that gets me. The song would have a lot of depth, sadness and aggression without the loudness. Just the feel of the stuff. Hits my general passive aggressive feelings to the core. And thus I feel that I can't get enough of their songs. Love PT........🤘
