Rest in Peace to Chris Ayres. This was his last time playing Freeza, and he did it while ill. His portrayal of the character ever since FUNimation did Dragon Ball Kai is a big reason why the character received the respect in america that he didn’t receive with his prior portrayal. Freeza is by far the most famous and iconic villain of Dragon Ball and Chris’s performance as well as the improved writing helped us finally understand why in English. The man was the GOAT and went far too soon.

Dude that is way off. I love Chris Ayres Frieza as much as the next person but Frieza has ALWAYS been famous and iconic. Maybe you read some random fan post saying otherwise but as someone who has been in the fandom since Z was airing on Cartoon Network, people have always loved Frieza as a villain. Hell Im sure youll still find some people who prefer Linda Young to Chris Ayres. I personally prefer Chris, but Linda didnt make Frieza a "joke" or anything of the sort.

Personally, I think Linda Young's voice is better for Frieza, and I always have. There are so many iconic lines in the original Funimation dub that are delivered perfectly, and they get even better after the inititial super saiyan tranformation from Goku. Never liked DBZ Kai nearly as much as the original interpretation. Still, can't go wrong with Dragon Ball no matter what series it is.

I like this movie. While it was an exploration of Broly in an actually canon lense, it also gave us a look into Frieza being cunning and not actually taking the spotlight but rather manipulating from behind the scenes. Him taking out Paragus and then pretending it was a stray blast of energy from Goku or Broly actually almost took me out

Vegeta’s brother, Tarble, is introduced in the 2008 special Yo Son Goku and Friends Return. He is also mentioned in the Battle of Gods movie and again in DBS Broly. He’s his younger brother who is married to a small bald alien girl named Gure. He doesn’t really show up in the story since BoG made it clear that Vegeta never asked Tarble as to where he lives when he leaves Earth after the 2008 special so basically nobody knows where he went and have no way to contact him. Considering he’s kinda weak, he really doesn’t have a point to show up anyways unless its going to be for something very specific. Maybe he’ll show up in Dragon Ball Daima since that’s supposed to be having the cast explore space so they could run into him at some point

I like that Broly was the character that helped Goku fully embrace his saiyan heritage. Until this movie came out, never before had goku referred to himself as Kakarot. It's almost as if the name alienates him or makes him part of a race of barbarians. But after meeting Broly in this film he understands that saiyans are not inherently evil. That's a MAJOR character development!

Gohan explained that to harness the power of his beast form he has to access his deepest rage and just before the blind rage fully takes over him, he would snap back and use the power stored in him. Broly learned from Gohan and now he can maintain SSJ without going berserk. Beast Gohan was also able to tap Goku in his MUI and literally punched Goku so hard he lost UI for a bit. Vegita wanted to try Beast Gohan too against his UE, then Trunks and Goten got involved. It just turned out to be a huge Saiyan free for all fight. A fun family brawl at Beerus's planet.

I like this movie because it spells out something that was always implied but never outright confirmed: The Super Saiyan transformation is accessing the ki of their Oozaru form without needing to look at the moon or physically change. All of the levels of it are just accessing more of that reserve of energy more efficiently, with the added cost of increased stamina drain at each level.

Just a couple things: - Super Saiyan has nothing to do with the Oozaru form, in fact, in this very movie, Broly's "rage" form (base hair, green aura, yellow pupils) is actually exactly that, him getting into Oozaru form without actually transforming. This was also so Toriyama could rework GT's Super Saiyan 4 in the future (since SSJ4 is accomplished controlling the Oozaru power, as per GT lore). - Later stages of Super Saiyan don't necesseraly mean more stamina drain. That's just SSJ3, SSJ2 doesn't drain more stamina than SSJ.

Vic Mignogna was Broly's VA for the movie. Unfortunately Bulma's VA and a couple others made what turned out to be unsubstantiated accusations against him and funimation dropped him as a VA before any investigation was done. It's why i only watch original subtitled DB animation.
