The sound design is actually quite genius. Anytime Geto starts wondering about his morality and the point of defending muggles he starts hearing the claps. I myself have PTSD and when I'm being triggered my mind distorts sounds and interprets them as the sounds I often heard during the traumatic events. There can be two people talking calmly next door but all I hear is people yelling and glass being smashed up. I honestly hadn't seen that portrayed in media before.

Such a beautiful episode. Also Geto turning "evil" makes sense. Imagine fighting for people who spit on your face whilst your friends are dying 1 by 1. Like Yuki he is now trying to fix the cause(stoping curser for even being formed) instead of the effects(killing curses)
@ambatuBUHSURK11 ай бұрын
"Spit in your face" who's that, how many non sorcerers have actually done this in the show? and how does his genocidal actions make sense or are any less cruel than that of evil non sorcerers? Stop the revenge fantasy. Most non sorcerers are good and would idolize sorcerers if they ever came to know about them saving humanity all the time. It was the government's fault for censoring their existence. I'm sorry but mistreatment of 2 children and an accidental death of a friend fighting cursed spirits doesn't give savior Geto Suguru the moral right to burn down an entire village with 100 people in them. Even if all 7 billion non sorcerers got together and collectively spat on his face and it still doesn't mean give him the right. Isn't it ironic how savior Suguru thinks non sorcerers are the problem meanwhile most of the main villains and fights are among sorcerers themselves. I know it's just anime but cynical and hateful people like you are the reason why humanity will fall one day very soon : because of our own actions. People keep trying to lay the blame solely on Gojo for Geto's declining change but I feel like we have to remember that he's also a teenager who also has the unfortunate position of being both a sorcerer & the strongest, so most of the missions are given to him (hence him going on missions a lot by himself) and is also the one sent whenever a mission goes wrong (haibara dying). Most teenagers are self absorbed as well and are too caught up with their own problems to really be able to notice much around them, although he did comment on Geto losing weight - its also hard to be able to be there for someone if their not opening up (geto denying anything was wrong). The people who really failed geto were the adults who either didn't notice him spiraling for a year or just didn't care and the jujutsu society who depend on sending kids to exorcise curses while neglecting to do anything about their mental health, like checking in on them or therapy for their many traumas

@landi1293 Жыл бұрын
The part where they talk about a "new vessel "is to show that getou and gojo went trough all that trauma and it was pointless, like another would just spawn and they can get that other one, it is another event to add to all the bullshit geto and gojo went through, making geto want to elimate every non sorcerer and gojo wanting to reformulate how jjk higher ups, jjktech and just how the sorcerer society operates in general, through teeching the nex generation and gathering strond friends and allys, making sure they got a lot of GUIDANCE, because that was what the jjk world failed to give Geto, Geto already had some tendencies dont get me wrong but, he also had the POTENTIAL to be good, that is what makes, to me at least, Geto such a great villan and Gojo a great protagonist at that time and during these 5 episodes. Also Gojo last words this episode show very clearly that he wants the next generation (kid megumi in this scene) to be as strong as him, so they can "keep up" with him and dont be lonely like Geto was, this motivation is very powerfull because it uses a selfish trait of the protagonist to boost his sense of duty and his cause, that works just as well for Geto but the opposite like i explained above about the potential to be good. Still exited to see the og crew back!

No, Geto did not kill the members of the star religious group. And no, the little girls did nothing wrong, geto said "I just eliminated the cause of those incidents" So what caused those incidents were curses that they themselves created.

Few things to point out for this prequel arc (this is actually alot lol, oops) - Yu Haibara died on a mission with Nanami. They were told it was a mission fitting their Sorcerer grade, but it turned out it wasn't due to miscalculation. It was a Grade 1 Curse and it ended up killing Haibara and nearly killed Nanami. Gojo took the mission because only he and Geto can actually take on those missions since they're Special Grade (Jujutsu High doesn't have many Sorcerers to spare). Geto did not have any involvement with his death and Haibara's passing served to add to Geto's resentment over humans because he doesn't want his comrades to die for them. - Sorcerers and Curses are categorized differently on power but follow the same ranking system. For instance, a Grade 1 Sorcerer and a Grade 1 Curse are not equivalent in power whereas a Grade 2 Sorcerer and a Grade 1 Curse are relative, so Jujutsu High always send out a someone with the same rank to handle the mission because they'll have a far easier time dealing with the threat and they're essentially guaranteed to survive the battle. Once you get into Special Grade, there is no real categorization method to deduce how strong you are, which is why in the current timeline Curses are ranked based on how many of Sukuna's Fingers they are worth in Cursed Energy. Jogo is the strongest Curse we've seen so far (besides Rika of course who is #1) and was stated by Geto to be worth 7-8 fingers (being generous). However we saw how easily Gojo dealt with him. Despite being the strongest Special Grade Sorcerer, Yuki, Geto, and Yuta are all extraordinarily powerful in their own right. - Geto was not always hateful towards humans, that's 100% confirmed. In fact, he had zero resentment for them. He ONLY became resentful AFTER Riko's death. This is how Geto sees it: A non-sorcerer (Toji) was hired by non-sorcerers (Time Vessel Association) to kill a 14 year old middle school girl who was fundamental to Jujutsu society, all because it benefitted the ideologies of non-sorcerers who despise sorcerers and essentially don't care if the world ends (Tengen becoming a higher being and running rampant). Before this, it was *he* who stated that Jujutsu Sorcerers existed to protect humans and he was 100% fully committed to that belief and wholeheartedly accepted it. The towns people wrongfully accusing the girls of a crime they weren't responsible for and saying they should have killed those girls when they were born is what drove him over the edge. - In Ep 4, we see Geto and Gojo crossing into the blue and red lighting during the final scene. As we learned with Reverse Cursed Technique, Red is Positive Energy, Blue is Negative Energy. Despite being on opposite ends of the morality argument, Geto was stationary in the negative, while Gojo moved into the positive, symbolizing how the paths they would follow from there on out (notice Geto's darkness growing within the light of the association's "light"). The author confirmed Gojo was using Geto as a moral compass in that scene. It's only because of Geto that Gojo moved into the positive after denying to kill all those people, while he himself remained in the negative. Ties in with Gojo picking up Toji's blessing (Megumi), while Geto picked up his curse. #sundayrundown

Remember, more important than not linking the taste of cursed spirits, Geto is pissed that people important to him are dying and the jujutsu world just keeps moving forward without addressing the cause for that. Also, the girls were innocent, he said he killed the spirit who were causing problems, they were locked in that cell and were probably going to die if not for him.

Geto’s descent and subsequent turn to being radicalized breaks my heart. They were both just kids and Riko’s death affected them in different ways. For Geto it made him want to eradicate non-sorcerers, for Gojo it made him want to protect non-sorcerers…and to protect future young sorcerers from the system that put them both in that position in the first place. Remember the ep in season 1 where Yuji dies on the first mission, Gojo suggests killing the “higher ups” for treating these kids’ lives with so little care. That’s why the scene with Gojo and the trio at the end always makes me smile. ❤ Geto is one of my favorite characters and there’s so much more to dig into when it comes to him as a character. This next arc is bananas!!

14:05, no Chris, sorcerers don’t attract spirits. That’s the main point Geto took from Yuki. Regular people leak out cursed energy since everyone has a bit and that creates curses. JJ sorcerers don’t leak since they refine and use cursed energy. Therefore, if there are no non-sorcerers, there’d be no cursed spirits.
@wymg4480 Жыл бұрын
Geto's ideology was that he specifically only see Jujutsu sorcerers as part of his people. Anyone who cant use it are worthless to him. Though, it was also shown that he showed mercy to Maki, whom he couldve easily killed. Yet despite her lack of curse energy and calling her a monkey, he still recognized her as a jujutsu sorcerer. It wasnt so much as these girls had power so he took them in. But because they were treated badly by those with non jujutsu that he couldnt leave them behind. Its like mutants really. Humans, unfortunately, would never accept or be able to comprehend powers of supernatural origin. We will lock them up. Discriminate against them. Perform experiments on them. Even if they have no intention to hurt us. Its hard to blame non sorcerers because they are ignorant to the world of jujutsu after all. But that ignorance is also the reason why curses are born and why Geto hates them.

To be fair its not like Getto's plan doesn't work. If he succeeds and everyone is a sorcerer then the problem goes away. As far as he knows anyway. So its not at all a terrible idea in that sense. It just requires a way to get rid of the non sorcerers. Either by making them sorcerers or something or making them extinct.

Great reaction and discussion! Especially Navi The Shower 🚿 and Rain 🌧️ transition to the Applause sound 👏🏻 is just A++ A sad fact was Geto ability leaves a bad taste is his mouth, no one else understand how distasteful that was and he does it every single day… 😢 There are many points to discuss as to how things got this way: 1) The Toji Incident and the Star Group clapping definitely haunted Geto more than Gojo. The rain/ shower and applause transition is just superb. 2) A callback, when they are both the Strongest. Geto was always nagging at Gojo about Moral, fighting for the weak and respect to their others; seen in their missions and basketball matches. The fact that after Gojo became the strongest. Gojo went on his missions alone, spends his free time to advance his Red/Blue control and automatic limitless. Shoko never get send on dangerous mission. This means that Geto had to deal with all the missions and his feelings alone. Gojo was not there for Geto when he needed him. Barely only noticing he got thinner. 3) Throughout Geto was fighting his inner demons. He didn’t just snap, he was considering all the pointers people gave him. It doesn’t help they all push him towards a certain direction. - A Point. His own conversation with Gojo about Genocide. Gojo flippantly said must there really need to be a point to murder? Geto reinforced his idea that Killing must have a Point. - Doing his best. Haibara innocence inspired Geto. Even we are not the best, we will give it everything we got. - Choosing your real self. This is a case where knowledge and advice coming at the wrong time. Geto needed company but it was definitely not the best time to bring out this topic. Not only Yuki sow the seed of total eradication of curse in the world in Geto. She also convince Geto that what you think are just possibilities, what you act on defines who you choose to be. - Marathon. The whole curse problem is it’s an endless cycle. The normal human generate curses > Sorcerers risk their lives to fight curse despite them not being the genesis of curses > Sorcerers dying are common occurrence, but dying(Haibara is an example) to protect who? > The people who generate curses are also in many instances unworthy of protection as they are just crappy (Star Group, the Villagers that detained the girls) 4) In JJK 0 finale clash, Yuta said “this is Pure Love” and Geto said “and I do this for the Greater Good”. 5) When Geto took over the remnant Star organization, he called Mr Sonoda up to the stage and crushed him. Hmm who’s Sonoda you may ask. Remember Shigeru Sonoda? The bugger Star Group representative that planned Riko murder and took her body. Yeah that’s him! 💫🤪 WELL DESERVED.. so go smoke those Monkeys 🙊 Everyone can talk about it and disagree how to face this issue. But no one actually dared to ‘solve’ this curse issue and nip the bud at its roots. Gojo was saying what’s the point of killing non-sorcerer bit by bit. Slowly chipping away. Geto is correct to say if he was Gojo, the ideal would be so much plausible. Just because how powerful Gojo is, he literally could succeed in it. Geto lamented I can’t be you, but I will at least get my hands dirty and get down with it. I’ll made my choice and I’ll give it my all. Deep inside, Geto never changed he just wanted to build a better world in his little ways… just a change of perspective. Geto is a ‘muggle-born’. If you think about how kind Geto was, it hurts him but since he decided the better world can only exist without non sorcerers. He cannot make special exceptions to his own parents. He had made his bed, there’s no way out.

Geto is still a compassionate man who protects the weak. But his viewpoint has changed: He believed non-sorcerers to be the weak that needed protecting. But now he sees them as the source of the problem, and he wants to protect weaker sorcerers from them. Like his friend Haibara, the positive boy who died this episode. He was too weak, and the curse that killed him was born from collective faith in a minor deity. He's a strong sorcerer, but he's still having to stomach all this shit, literally. So he's done with eating shit to save the ass that shat it out. And as you can see: He's still fine offering a light for Shoko. She's weirded out by it and she's like "Imma call Gojo and get the hell out of this situation". But he holds no ill will towards them. And funny enough, he was the happiest all episode, right after killing a village chatting with his friend.

Geto's whole hatred for "monkeys" is basically that they're the ones who produce curses. Yuki, the girl that talked to Geto, says that sorcerers output very little cursed energy into the world because they can control it. The only cursed energy that comes from sorcerers is that which is produced by their techniques and seems to be more like leakage if you will. Geto saved those little girls not because they were just sorcerers, but because they were wrongfully being blamed. It was the townspeople that caused the curses. That whole scene kinda lines up with how Geto felt when Haibara died. He just felt as if the sorcerers were lambs being lead to slaughter, they were just being thrown at the curses just for the issue to never be resolved, which is what he connected to what Yuki said, we have to try and get to the root of the curses, which is non-sorcerers. Geto also felt as if sorcerers were always getting the short end of the stick even though they protected non-sorcerers. They would protect them from something the non-sorcerers themselves created, the curses. It's really well written because Geto's fall was a slow gradual decline, that was a bunch of "small" things wearing him down. It was not one big moment, but rather multiple moments compiled on top of his already breaking convictions and motivations.

Please don't get hung up on Geto's turn to the dark side being because he wants to stop eating vomit/shit rags. Geto's story here is a fall from grace. I think you went in this arc thinking, "Oh young Geto is already bad." And you kept anticipating him betraying Riko Amanai. Geto's fall is a existential snowball: He and Gojo decided to give Amanai a choice, and she chose living life on her own terms. The innocent girl is shot before his eyes, learning your bestfriend died, failing to apprehend/avenge the said murderer, seeing humans clapping for the death of Amanai, at the time choosing the high road and not killing them. All in a single day. Then returning to the monotony of beating and eating curses, existentially wondering what's the point of it all and having no end goal to the marathon of being a jujutsu sorcerer, being at the crossroads of a dilemma and hearing a horrible solution to his dilemma. Haibara dies in action. Innocent girls are caged and persecuted by a village. Please rewatch that scene again. It shows curses were literally coming out of the villager's fingers from their hatred/fear for the kids. It was saying i wished i killed you when you're babies. Geto was saying he already dealt with the problems. The curses were coming from regular people. Curses aren't drawn to sorcerers, either. As you said, Geto radicalized himself. He's 100% in the wrong. No question. But what this arc is trying to show is the nuance of how he got there. Through snowballing the emotional trauma he's built up.

Geto is tragic, but I find it ironic that practically everything he does contradicts what he says he wants to achieve. 🤦♀ He blames non-sorcerers for the existance of curses and says killing all non-sorcerers will create 'a better world'. This isn't just unethical, it's stupid. Firstly, cursed energy only flows more freely out of non-sorcerers because the leaders of Jujutsu Sorcerer society decided non-sorcerers aren't allowed to know cursed energy exists, and won't teach non-sorcerers how to control it. If teaching control isn't viable the Sorcerers could use their connection with the Japanese government to lobby for policies to increase the non-sorcerers' feelings of security and happiness (which would also decrease the amount of curses non-sorcerers unwittingly produce). There are options. Secondly, killing all non-sorcerers won't make all curses disappear. Jujutsu Sorcerers can and have created curses as well. They don't create as many because they're a smaller group, and most of them have training. However the trade off is that the curses they do make, or become themselves, are much more powerful. In the JJK universe Sugawara No Michizane was a Jujutsu Sorcerer who became one of the Three Great Vengeful Spirits. Sugawara's descendant, Yuuta Okkotsu, later creates the special grade curse Rika Orimoto. There's also the danger of Sorcerers cursing others as they die, if they're filled with strong negative emotions like anger or regret. Then there's Sukuna who was once a human and practisioner of jujutsu, but transformed into a cursed object upon death. Curses still remain a problem. Thirdly, killing all non-sorcerers actually harms Sorcerers. Sorcerer society is already small and inbred so killing off the wider gene pool is only going to decrease the fertility and immunity of those remaining Sorcerers, who are now forced to inbreed even more. It doesn't guarentee that only Sorcerers will be born either. Even the three big Sorcerer Families, who practise cousin marriage, cannot always produce a Sorcerer - the Zenin considered Toji and Maki failures after all. On the other hand two non-sorcerer parents can produce a Sorcerer child. Nobara & Geto himself are examples of this. Sorcerer society has a high chance of dying out without non-sorcerers. TLDR if Geto actually wanted to create a better world he'd address the root of the problems, which is the elites of the Jujutsu Sorcerer society.

Getos goals NEVER changed. His perspective did. His ideals was always to protect the weak, that the strong must serve those below them. At first he saw humans as the weak.. but after realising how horrible they are to sorcerers, how they treat them and create curses that kill their friends and family.. that kill their sorcerer partners.. well he saw Sorcerers as the lower class, as the oppressed.. and since his goal is to protect the weak. He must protect all sorcerers. to do that, he must get rid of their greatest threats, humans. Because humans create curses, without humans, there are NO CURSES without humans sorcerers can live in peace and harmony for possible eternity.

It's sad, really. A lot of people were watching these five episodes, waiting for the eventual turn and snapping of Geto through some event. But it wasn't just one event. It was a combination of different things. What happened to Riko, the trauma Toji inflicted on him, his conversation with Yuki about non-sorcerers and what their existence means to the world, the premature death of Haibara due to the inaccuracies of their mission(and how teens are losing their lives without even knowing why thanks to the higher ups), Gojo being able to take care of all of the problems and what he offered to Geto about getting rid of all of the people even if they were innocent, and the straw that broke the camels back was seeing how two innocent girls were being treated all because of who they were. We saw the story of how Geto went from a sweet boy to the Geto we saw in JJK 0. Hater of all monkeys. It truly is a tragedy. So many bad things continued to stack up and no one saw how far Geto had sunk until it was too late.
