Love your reactions and discussions after. Only recently started watching these. Going to be an interesting ride this season. It's great how the show runners have included more and more Scandinavian actors throughout the seasons. Gustav of course from the beginning and now Peter Franzen as Harald Finehair and next Jasper Pääkkönen as Halfdan the Black. I'm from Finland and just proud of those two getting into this awesome show.

Harald Finehair (Harald Hårfagre) is actually the first ever king of the entirety of Norway, as he united all the small kingdoms in Norway under one, huge kingdom. Love how History and the Vikings team tries to include all the huge, historical people that lived in a span of like 300 years into a slot of 50 years. Luckily it’s just fiction and not claiming to be a historical accurate show. Vikings still in my top 3 shows tho

You're almost there! Great reason our clan folk! This is one of my favorite 4a episode... It sucks to see Ragnar resort to Yidu's drugs :\ I mean, hallucination drugs are never the answer... But, Ragnar has suffer A LOT, he is in a very difficult mental state. Back when Athelstan was alive, he was more than a good friend for him: He was his place of refuge to whom he would tell everything and say anything, because his own people wouldn't understand that. Yidu, being a foreigner (Well, it's an understatement lol I don't know if there was ever a Northmen/Chinese encounter), she can too, understand what he's saying without being biased. So that is why I believe that Ragnar is interested in her. It's not sexual attraction, it's his search for peace and understanding. Especially when his relationship with Aslaug has reached rick bottom... :\ Oh and the drug is the Betel nut, wrapped in it's leaves. It's juices cause a "bleeding" look. Bjorn killing the berseker with cruelty was great. Finally, my boy, you're a real man :) Plus Kalf and Erlendur pissed themselves a little, so it's good. King Harlad finhair was a very important historical figure in Norway. BUT, he lived decades after this time period :) As we know, Hirst takes many liberties so, he's here lol. He is a very good character, but anyone who DARES!!! To glare at our father like that... I my enemy >:( No one grins at Travis the great!! Good on Ubbe for kicking his ass... And for our wife Aslaug for seeing right though his pretty words: He greeted him as expected, after all, he's a guest and a king no less. But, the saw through the king of all Norway talk. Pretty words and pleasantries cannot hide the meaning it his statement. She knows that behind the pleasantries, he is not to be trusted. That is why she had that serious tone. Harald is younger than Ragnar, in his "prime"... But, our father, Travis lothbrok the great, is Ragnar, And there is only one Ragnar. So, king Harald, kindly piss off our father's face, you and your face tattoos.

King Harald Finehair/Fairhair (I've seen him called both, I don't know if it's a translation thing or what) semi-historical first king of all Norway. According to legend he made the vow to his princess that he would conquer all Norway, and also that he would not cut his hair until he did so. The conquest took him 10 years, so during the course of it he was called "tangled hair" or "shock hair". When he was done, however, he finally cut his hair and became fine or fair hair. According to legend he supposedly got his princess in the end, something that won't happen on the show for reasons I won't spoil for anybody. Amusingly, the show missed out on something of an opportunity here. In the legends, according to what I've heard, Harald's princess was named Gyda, the same name as Ragnar's daughter that died in Season 2. Imagine if he tried to marry Gyda, and she refused until he lived up to Ragnar's stature or something along those lines. It would have made for an interesting dynamic among the characters, at least. (Not to mention trying to imagine Ragnar as somebody's crazy, not approving future father-in-law.)
