I dunno. Jet lost his family to the enemy. Zuko was deeply hurt by his parent. Jet's anger was from lost and hurt. Zuko's anger was from denial and confusion about himself. Jet's hatred is really similar to Katara's when she confrontes the murderer of her mother. But she had her support, her father, Gran-Gran, brother, other tribe people. Jet was left with a bunch of kids, he was their support.

Suppressor 12 when i was a kid (was in elementary when the show came out) i understood perfectly the complexities of the show and loved it because it was not like spongebob (i like spongebob but this is better) the show shows effects from a war, people suffering and struggling to get by, and the character development was incredible! The period of Appa being missing felt super long for those who watched the show when it actually aired on TV. Even though he is only missing for like 5 episodes, the episodes "The Library" and "The Desert" (when he is stolen) aired on July 14th (oddly, just by themselves in the middle of the summer) as a special called "The Fury of Aang". and then the latter half of season 2 didn't air until September later that year, this episode actually didn't air until November. This made this episode THAT much more satisfying. It's interesting to think that one's experience of a show could be rather different between binge watching or watching it week to week over many years. What i think the Blue Spirit represents is an escape from personal responsibility, like Zuko can use the mask to get away with making decisions that may otherwise be seen as dishonorable or against what he must be in order to be accepted back home; Prince Zuko of the Fire Nation didn't release the Avatar from prison, or rob civilians-- The Blue Spirit did that. While the Blue Spirit has mostly helped the gang in the long run, Zuko has only ever used that persona for selfish reasons. Uncle was urging him to stop hiding from the consequences of his actions and think about what they really mean for who he is as a person. If he's going to make a decision, he's going to have to deal with it himself.

This is absolutely a kids show bc it touches on these topics but makes it relatable to all ages and in the end, has an optimistic & adventurous feel that reminds ppl to keep going despite the ups & downs. So much has happened in the world that it leaves ppl to think things like this are too sensitive & inappropriate for kids to see, when rlly, this is exactly the kind of show they should watch bc it teaches many profound lessons on life in a fun & encouraging way. Hands down, everything about that Iroh speech is the best scene on any tv/film to air. Never has he raised his voice to Zuko like that, he knows Zuko is so close to redeeming himself and finding his own destiny, Iroh so badly wants Zuko to do the right thing.
